Exploring Careers: 17 Career Cluster Units BUNDLE | Distance Learning

The “Excelling with Excel” Intermediate Activities let students continue their learning with Microsoft Excel to include more intermediate commands. This lesson assumes student already have beginner skills with Microsoft Excel including knowing these basic commands: entering and editing information, basic cell and text formatting, changing column width, creating a basic formula (SUM, AVERAGE, basic math), adding a row or column, changing page settings, printing, and creating a basic chart/graph. Landmark Cases of the Supreme Court - Research & Presentation Project

This unit connects learning with technology to Social Studies. This is perfect for technology class or for use in a Social Studies classroom that wants to incorporate technology with a lesson. No download is required to use Powtoon (www.powtoon.com - a free product), making it easy for teachers who are not able to download software on classroom computers to still give their students a choice in learning. Students can also use MS PowerPoint or Google Slides for the project if the teacher prefers.
In this lesson, students are provided with a quick tutorial, as well as links to other resources to help them with their project. The tutorial is intended to help students get started with the program and then use the resources within the program to refine their creations. Students create an animated video presentation about one of the landmark cases of the Supreme Court after researching it. They use that information along with animation, characters and music (all supplied in Powtoon) to create a finished animated presentation that explains the case and adds their own opinions and insights to it.
The project was created for grades 7-8 but could easily be used with upper elementary or high school students.

Titanic Disaster WebQuest & Timeline Project | Distance Learning

In this lesson, students learn interesting facts about the Titanic disaster as they complete several projects including a WebQuest (Internet Scavenger Hunt) to answer questions about the topic. A complete answer key is provided for the WebQuest for easy grading, along with resources for both teachers and students. The student questions are included in both a print version and a digital (editable) version to make it easy for students to complete the lesson digitally or on paper. Also included with this lesson is a word search puzzle that includes an answer key.
