A transition is the changing from one activity to the next. If they are not planned in advance, transitions can be difficult, resulting in unhappy children and misbehaviors. The activities in this packet can help to make your daily classroom transitions much more successful. Many of these also make great "brain breaks" for your students.

Do your students need Paperless Morning Meeting Slides of Videos to work on their reading skills while creating connections and building relationships? Using a Video of The Day can lead to tremendous growth academically and socially. The videos can be utilized during your Morning Meeting time along with your other components. 

The Video of The Day is on PowerPoint and can be used every morning during your Morning Meeting routine. All you have to do is bring up the PowerPoint each morning and play the video on the slide. This is a bundle of all of the videos for your morning meeting time. There are 162 editable and diverse videos spread out on three different PowerPoints.

If you would instead use a different video one day, you can delete the video and add your own! 

Students will infer, visualize, synthesize, and create connections with the videos.  Looking closely at a video is an important reading skill for students to develop to create inferences about what they are watching. Therefore, the inferences they are creating about the videos will lead to connections and inferences within their reading texts. Students who practice those skills outside of reading will most likely utilize those same skills while reading. You will need to teach students how to do that throughout the school year with the PowerPoint. 

Additionally, the Video of The Day can be used for writing prompts or centers. Students can view the video and write a story based on the video. The students may also write predictions on what they think would happen next if the video continued.

Students need to know they are valued and appreciated. One way to let them know is to present them with certificates, whether you present it publicly, privately, staple it to their assignment being returned to them or, if they have a student folder or journal with pockets, simply place it inside for them to find!
