Do I have to print out the game materials for every kid?

Nope! You ONLY have to print out the answer sheet for each kid or group. Just one set of the actual puzzles is all you need! If you choose to use the digital version to save paper and ink, then you will only need to print the QR codes for the Mission (get the kids to scan and read this first), Hint Cards and Puzzle Tasks 1-9.

Do I have to print out the Mystery Door for the game?

Nope! I suggest that you show the picture of the door + QR code on your phone or laptop for pupils to scan and enter their 4-digit secret code. You can also use an actual lock where the kids can actually enter the 4-digit secret codes to complete the game.

This resource includes a POWERPOINT version of the worksheets (17 slides) to make it easier for you to display and review whole class! The PowerPoint is also included on Google Slides. Students can work on one slide at a time. What's unique about how the content is presented on the PowerPoint is that each slide contains ONE vocabulary word within the paragraph it is used in. Students will read the paragraph with the underlined vocabulary word, and decipher the meaning through several context clues surrounding the word. They will also be challenged to use the word correctly in a sentence. The next slide is an ANSWER KEY slide to make it easier to review!

This resource includes 8 Word Analysis Worksheets, ONE for EACH word. Here, students are asked to define the word based on context clues, list the word's synonyms and antonyms, and write a sentence using the word. ANSWER KEYS for each worksheet is included.

✅ Create Your Own Story Worksheet

Students will have an opportunity to show their creativity by creating their own story or passage using as many of the vocabulary words as they can. Challenge them to include context clues, so readers can use them to determine the meanings of the words.
