For this assignment, I asked the students to create two separate artworks: a drawing (colored in), and a collage artwork. Students spent two days drawing and coloring a flowerpot artwork. Students spent another two days creating a flowerpot collage artwork that showed similarities in color and patterns used to their drawing artwork. Do your students need additional support identifying money, counting money, matching dollar amounts to currency and making purchases using the "next dollar up" method? This comprehensive unit has 3 differentiated levels of math skills all with an Earth Day theme - from Interactive Google slides, Offline Interactive .pdf, and Printable Task Cards, you have an entire Earth Day Unit planned for you to reach ALL of your learners!

Functional money skills such as counting and identifying money to make purchases are critical to successful daily living. This Earth Day Money Unit reinforces these skills with progressively harder tasks beginning with matching dollar to dollar, progressing on to matching prices with dollars, then using the next dollar up method to make a purchase. The currency is in US dollars from $1 to $10. There are 3 levels of learning with 10 cards per level!

This is an excellent resource for a range of students, from those with IEP Math or Money Goals to transition-to-work students and elementary students learning money skills. It is a great addition to any math/ supported employment program or math center. These activities can also support Transition Plans!
