Plate Tectonics Research Project And Activities

This packet focuses on learning about the different kinds of animals that live in the grasslands. Included are writing pages, project instructions, center activities and wall posters. It can be a simple packet for talking about the animals in general or you can go further by learning about the animals in the tropical grasslands vs. the temperate grasslands as well as learning which ones live in the African Savanna or the American Prairie/Great Plains. Table of Contents Pages 3-5 – These pages are a sorting activity where students can sort the animals according to whether they are in a tropical grassland or in a temperate grassland. They can also sort animals to whether they live in the African Savanna or the American Prairie/Great Plains. Pages 6-17 – The pages are for drawing pictures of different kinds of grasslands and drawing animals that live there. Student will write the names for the animals they draw. There are pages for grasslands, tropical grasslands, temperate grasslands, the African Savanna, the American Prairie and the Great Plains. Nature Tips are given to help studnets learn how to respoct the outdoors. There's a "Quick Trip Log" (not the gas station) where students can keep track of all their journeys. There are two pages for every outing to allow students to reflect on what they see, hear, feel and smell. There are multiple Scavenger Hunts that can be used to look for different things on every outing.
There's so much here for children to do while they are outdoors!

This packet focuses on learning about the different kinds of animals that live in the rain forest. It will make a great supplement for any rain forest unit! It can be a simple packet for talking about the animals in general or you can go further by learning about the animals in the Amazon vs. the African Jungle.
Pages 3-5 – These pages are for sorting animals for the African Jungle and the Amazon rain forest. Combine these sorting cards with other sets to sort between different habitats.
Pages 6-13 – The pages are for drawing pictures of different kinds of rain forest and drawing animals that live there. Student will write the names for the animals they draw. There are pages for the tropical rain forests, the jungle, the African Jungle and the Amazon. Each type of rain forest has 2 pages with different writing lines.
Pages 14-21 – These are poster pages for each type of rain forest. There is a set of posters that include the animal names and a set that do not.
Pages 22-27 – These are clip cards for telling whether the animals live in the African Jungle or the Amazon. Cards are included with and without the animal names.
Page 28 – This is a memory/concentration game. Print this sheet twice and cut them out to make the game!

AP Spanish Retos Ambientales 2 videos with Viewing Guides and Ed puzzle

AP Spanish® teachers: save time searching for the right video for your students! This Google Doc contains links to TWO YouTube videos and a viewing guides perfect for Unit 6: Los retos ambientales. One video has an auto-grading Edpuzzle version! The accompanying comprehension questions are digital for distance learners and printable for in-person learners, and they are customizable to make them just right for your students’ needs!
Have students watch these videos to get a sense of some of the problems we face with our environment. One video talks about 5 specific problems in Mexico, their causes and their consequences. It is a short video, but the narrator speaks rather fast. This resource comes with a comprehension guide in graphic organizer format, or you may choose to use the multiple choice Edpuzzle version. I find that the Edpuzzle version is a good scaffold to aid student comprehension because the questions can be inserted right after the information has been provided! This Edpuzzle is also auto-graded to save you time and to give students instant feedback! The second video is about what would happen if all the ice in the world were to melt. It talks about the possibilities and the human and animal consequences that would occur. This video is accompanied by short answer comprehension questions.
Of course, both viewing guides come with a teacher answer key, and all questions can be edited to suit your needs!
Environmental challenges is a great theme to explore as a Global Challenge, or as part of the Science and Technology Unit. These videos could be a great source for a debate as this topic can be controversial!

AP Spanish Unit 6 Intro Resources to Start Global Challenges

Unit 6 of AP® Spanish explores environmental, political and global challenges. Use these 5 resources to introduce the topic and get students interested and talking about it right away! Take away the stress of starting a new unit- you have everything you need to set the stage for this last unit!
First- the "Hook" activity! A Google Slides presentation with provocative images of different global challenges. In each slide, in the speaker notes, there is a speaking prompt the teacher can read to students. Use this as a turn and talk activity to involve everyone at once!
Next, a vocabulary list that introduces words that will be important to have for the unit to better understand the different sources students will examine in class. Included with this vocab list is a pre-made Quizlet for student practice!
Third, there are 2 vocab activities for students to practice using the new words. I usually assign these for homework, but they can be used as in class activities as well.
Last, your essential questions! Guide your unit with these questions.

An engaging way to begin a unit on economics! This fun and hands-on activity will have students explore the important concepts of human needs versus wants through an engaging rocket ship simulation. Students will be vicariously drawn into an emergency situation in which they must collaborate, and agree as to what items they consider as ‘essential’ for their survival on their rocket ship mission to live on a far away planet. An interactive Slide Presentation will help guide the groups on their journey… along with prompting students to delve deeper by examining the broader issues of sustainability, waste, and identifying the main differences between ‘developed’ and ‘developing’ countries.
