Social Skills in special education Following directions adapted book & activity

Adaptive Books & followup materials focused on following directions.
Following Directions: Adaptive books are interactive, as students will match the corresponding icon to each page. The books 2 levels and they are in color and in black and white. Level 1: short paragraph about different scenarios in which students need to follow directions (bathroom, dismissal, computer, work, snack, recess, & games. Level 2: book contains repetitive text "I will listen to my teacher when ....".
Following Directions Supplemental worksheets: Print and go worksheets! They are designed for student who need additional practice with simple directions. Use these during direct instruction & after reading the adaptive stories.

Upper and Lowercase Letter brick Build and Write Fine Motor BUNDLE

Brick Building letters activity for Upper and Lowercase Letters
In this hands on, multisensory activity, students won’t even realize they are learning! In this resource, they will learn letter formation by first building the letters with bricks, coloring the block letter, tracing the letter, and then writing the letter.
Building letters with building bricks is not only a fun and engaging way to learn letter formation, but students are working on foundational fine motor skills needed for writing. Students don’t have to use a pencil for writing, try broken crayons (broken crayons help promote tripod grasp pattern), q-tip painting, or fingerpaint. When writing letters for this activity, students use handwriting letter boxes to help with letter size, placement, and spacing. Perfect for pre-K and kindergarten centers, as well as OT groups, homeschool, and handwriting practice

Adjectives Vocabulary Word and Sentence Review Workbooks

In this product, students will learn the 126 adjectives presented. Students will also be provided with pictures of each adjective to help them make up a sentence. There are 141 pages in this product.
In the first section, students will be required to write each adjective. At the end of this section, students will then be required to choose 20 adjectives and make up a sentence for each one.
In the second section, students will be required to write a sentence for each adjective using the example sentence and picture provided.

Are you currently teaching Vocabulary? Are you looking for a NO PREP, fun and effective way to introduce a VOCABULARY JOURNAL? I've got you covered! This is perfect for the whole class! This Vocabulary Journal will have your students excited about learning new words!
In the first template, each page includes a “Word of the Day” space along with a space for students to write the word, the meaning, use it in a sentence and draw a picture. In the second template, each page includes a “Word of the Day” space, along with “My Language” where students can write the word in their native language, Turn & talk with a partner, write the meaning and draw a picture.

This set of books includes 5 Adaptive Books focusing on color identification. All books have a choice of 8 manipulative pieces. However, differentiation is easy, as you will provide fewer options if needed. The books include colorful grasshoppers, turtles, heroes, & Fish. These books require some prep work; however, once they are laminated & velcroed, they provide extended and repeated practice.
Books 1 & 2: Colorful Grasshoppers & Where is Grasshopper helps students identify colors and place colored grasshoppers in specific locations (under, on, behind, beside, and between).
Book 3: Friendly Fish provides students with visual prompting to support matching colors. Students will match the Fish to the correct color.
Book 4: Hero Friends utilizes repetitive text "We need a hero wearing _____." Students will select the correct superhero on each page.
Book 5: A slow turtle allows students to place the correct color turtle by the water. Students can also practice letter formation by tracing words within this book.

In this packet, students can answer comprehension questions pertaining to the text as they read the book or after they read the text. They can complete these questions individually, in a small group, or with support. There are several pages of comprehension questions in this packet that differ from the questions asked in the teacher edition. The questions from the text are adapted in this packet to meet each of your student's needs. In the beginning of the packet, the question, "what is a historical fiction text?" is answered. The selection vocabulary words are also included with this packet. The meaning of the vocabulary word and a picture that shows what each word is is also included. Students will listen to a short story going back to school & what we can expect during the school day. Expected behaviors are also introduced such as stay with the class, walk in the hallway & follow my teacher directions. This story is colorful.
Book 2: What do you do at school?
Students will listen to a story talking about different areas at school & expected behaviors. Areas include: hallway, arrival, art, classroom, PE, cafeteria & recess.
Book 3: Jobs in my classroom
This book identifies 8 jobs to be completed in the classroom. These jobs include:

As our Deaf/hard of hearing/ELL students are completing written assignments, little words/parts of speech that are commonly confused when writing with words such as there, their, and they're. My students are confusing them for each other continuously. The words there, their, and they're are emphasized in this product. Students will determine if there, their, and they're belong in each sentence, circle the correct use of the word there, their, and they're in sentences, write sentences using there, their, and they're when looking at different picture scenarios, and will write there, their, or they're to complete each sentence. Students are provided space to make up their own sentences using there, their, and they're as well.
