I envisaged this to be a September week 1 internet activity. It will give students an opportunity to think about how other people perceive them. It could also be used as a lesson in how to search Google effectively or used as a dictionary / thesaurus activity, where students have to find descriptive words in order to search for appropriate pictures on Google Images.

These have been doing the rounds on FaceBook and email recently. You may have received posters / postcards entitled "Teachers...." or "Moms..." and then under the title are a series of photos with captions like;

Each caption is accompanied by an image of what that person thinks about the other person or group of people.

The sample here is of the "Teacher..." postcard. This is NOT what I am selling. I am selling a similar template entitled, "Students..." It is laid out the same as the teacher one with the same titles (the word teacher has been replaced with student), however, the pictures are missing. Students must search Google Images for appropriate pictures that characterize themselves. The photo titles are as follows;

This is a great activity for students to do at the beginning of your Fashion Designer Unit. I like to use it as the first step in my Fashion Designer Research Project.

About this Activity

• Student will research various types of information about a particular Fashion Designer.
• The instructions allow them to chose a Fashion Designer of their choice but it needs to be approved by you so that they get a little bit of freedom but your can make sure that who they chose is an appropriate Fashion Designer for research.
• This is also the information I have them research to create a google slides presentation on their Fashion Designer.

You may hear about natural disasters often, but some of the deadliest disasters in world history have been environmental disasters caused by human activity. This lesson involves having your students investigate environmental disasters that have taken place on our planet. Their initial focus will be to examine the Chernobyl disaster in the Soviet Union. This is a great project for APES or Biology! I used it for both, but for Biology I made some of the last tasks optional and changed some of the upper tasks to weigh a little bit more to balance it out to 100%. It includes the rubric, which is a checklist for the students and also for your grading convenience!

The students love it! It can be done individually or in pairs. It can be a gallery walk or presented to the class. I hope you and your students enjoy!

While researching your biome, you will learn about commonalities, locations, community interactions within it, and look at any environmental issues associated with the biome. The final part of your project will be a free-standing display on a poster board of all the information you gathered and you will be prepared to present this information to the class.
