This can be a fun activity during October or during Halloween. Have the students solve the monster's triple digit addition and subtraction equations. This 3-digit addition and subtraction worksheet has students practice regrouping numbers. This worksheet also comes with two different extension activities for your students who may finish fast. One page is all addition practice and the other is all subtraction practice. Then there is one page where the problems are mixed and students will need to pay attention to whether they add or subtract the 3-digit numbers.

Extension Activities: A fun extension sheet can be stapled to students worksheet to give them a little extra challenge.

1. Once they have found their answer by adding or subtracting the number, they can color the monster red or blue based off if the solution is odd or even.

Pancake Days Math Themed Activities and Centers - Students will develop their Early numeracy skills of counting, number identification, graphing, addition & subtraction, & making 10.

Print and Laminate materials from this packet for students to use in math centers, or for additional practice with groups or direct instruction. These materials can be utilized in a variety of ways to provide differentiation for your students!

Number Identification - Pancakes with numbers 1-30.

• Students can use the pancake flipper to "cook" the requested number and place on a plate (dice also included).
• Work on number identification by providing a choice of 2,3,or 4 options.
  Place pancakes on the griddle. Students can use the flipper to get / or flip the correct pancake.
• Place the correct pancake number in the pan.
• Use the pancakes to work on number order too!

Graphing - Students can graph either 3 or 5 items. You will need to print and prep the dice prior to graphing activities.

• Graphing mats included in color and BW
• Roll and graph.

Addition -

• Roll a dice (2x), add the pancakes together. Use a griddle to count pancakes you are adding and determine the sum.
• Make 10 cards - Print and laminate these materials for extended use. If students need visual supports they can use an expo marker to fill the 10 frame. How many more were needed to make 10.

Subtraction -

• Word problems with manipulative pancakes and person to feed. Count out the appropriate amount of pancakes, then feed your person to determine the differences.
• BW worksheets - students will cross out when subtracting pancakes. Determine the difference.

Triple digit Addition with Regrouping Activity #2

This paperless math center includes 30 interactive Slides and a  Self-Grading Google Form for students to practice adding 3 digit numbers up to 1,000 with regrouping both place values. 

The activity includes 20 slides with movable Base 10 Blocks for students to practice regrouping using a place value strategy as well as 10 slides with standard algorithm practice problems. The resource includes a TIME SAVING Self-Grading Google Form to provide students with quick feedback and effortlessly track student progress on this skill.  

The interactive slides allow students to drag moveable base-10 blocks into the hundreds, tens, and ones place to model the addition problem. How long does this activity take to complete?

It really depends on a lot of things. Estimated completion time is 30-45 minutes but it’s based on the kids’ puzzle skills, group size, and age. We recommend ages 6-10 years old.

How many kids can play at once?

Kids can play individually, with friends, or in large groups. There really is no limit to the number of players.

What if the kids get stuck on one of the puzzles?

First off, let them think for a bit! This is where critical thinking skills come in. If they get stuck, hint cards have been included in your download to guide them. It is advised that you preview the puzzles first, so you understand how to complete them.

Where do kids start?

Kids can start on any puzzles and complete the puzzles in ANY order!

How do you know if their answers are correct?

There is an answer key provided in the PDF.

How do I set up the activity?

Just print and play! Everything you need is included in your download. You don’t need locks (you can definitely prepare one if you wish to), envelopes, or special equipment. You can hang or hide the puzzles or just spread them out on the kitchen table.

Do I have to print out the game materials for every kid?

Nope! You ONLY have to print out the answer sheet for each kid or group. Just one set of the actual puzzles is all you need!
