Based off the hit Windows 3.11 game we all knew and loved, Rhythm Sweeper is a progressive game where one slip can end you up on the dreaded mine! This will have your kids reading and mastering rhythms in NO TIME! Students will see a grid of 40 squares on the home page. Each square contains either a link to a rhythm.... or a mine :) I select one student at a time to pick a number. I'll then click on the number and it'll advance to the designated slide. If it's a rhythm, we add that rhythm to the Building Board on the home page. The teacher will click "Back to Game and Building Board" and put the rhythm they just received on the board. As for the rhythms they earned, you can cut out rhythms, write them in dry erase, or have a student keep tabs on the side. Students will now say, sing, or play the rhythm back. Then we repeat! See how it gets progressive? ;) ...until the mine! There are 5 mines in each game, and once the mine is hit, it's GAME OVER! At the end, you can tally up how many beats the class amassed (which is great if you can allow student to add it up as the game has half, quarter, and pairs of eighth notes). Compete against other classes, or themselves! There are 10 files in the pack and each one is completely different (all the rhythms are mixed up and of course, so are the mines) Have fun with this! I keep lively music in the background and have the kids on lummi sticks to play the rhythms back. Let me know if you have any questions by leaving a comment!

Here come the Little Jammers! This new program from ZSMP/Seckman Music Studio is a Kids Band Discovery curriculum that teaches students the basics of playing Guitar, Keyboard, Drums, and a little singing as well! Little Jammers uses colored notes on the staff and instruments to allow kids to visually learn the music.

This Preview Pack includes 5 of the 21 songs from the full program curriculum. In the pack, you'll have the lessons plans, set-up instructions, band books for the kids, 10 backing tracks, and teacher scores for the 5 songs. Preview Pack materials are studio-licensed so you may make as many copies as needed, but the Little Jammers name may not be used; song titles can be published for programs and concerts.

You will need additional material and instruments for this program such as: Half-sized guitar, jr drumset, small synth/keyboard, amplifier and appropriate cables, all explained in the set-up material.

Use this new book which was published this year to practice and review ta and ti-ti rhythms! Start out by discussing with students their good and bad days, and then read the story. Use the chant to practice and reinforce steady beat and rhythm. Then, use the visual chart to decode for those rhythms. Add in small percussion instruments if you desire, to make this more fun! Use for grades PreK-2.

The 6 tracks are at approximately 120bpm and also have a faster 142bpm just in case you want to get things really moving! Use the chant or lullaby to help the bear feel better! Chant or sing this extension to the popular book "Bear Feels Sick" by Karma Wilson. Talk to the children prior to starting about what being a caring and good friend means and that friends help each other when they are sick. Then introduce the chant or song to the children and sing after every time that the says the bear feels sick. Use the rhythm chart to decode the rhythms and discover quarter rests. Use the song to listen and decode for the do solfege syllable. Adaptable for PreK-2nd grade.

This is a competitive solfege naming game in powerpoint format. The learning goal is for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students to name solfege hand signs as fast as they can. We usually play this game 'around the world' style. We start off on the left side or right side of the the room and the first two people stand up and you flash a note on the screen.The student who gets the note correct gets to move onto the next child in the class while the other student sits. Despite the previews, the solfege symbol has a blank below it, and on the next animation it will appear. That student has to make their way through the entire class before being deemed champion... but they could be beat at ANY TIME! You can mix it up, left side, right side, boys/girls, etc. Kids get ultra competitive, especially in 5th grade.

Use these music certificates to award your students for doing a terrific job in music! These pre-made certificates are FULL Color and contain text appropriate for their specific certificate. Use this lesson to have the children comfort the bear that the tooth will come out! Based on this popular book, have the children chant or sing to a bear puppet that it will all be okay. Use the accompanying rhythm and beat charts to differentiate between rhythm and steady beat. Accompanying worksheet should be used to have students notate the rhythms to reinforce their decoding skills. Have the older students in grades 1 and 2 sing the chant on so, mi and la syllables. Use the sung version of the chant to introduce or reinforce the la syllable. Adaptable for grades PreK-2nd grade with worksheets that can be assigned digitally through Easel.

Need to connect with your kids with their pop music through general music? Involve them in a new BODY PERCUSSION version with BTS' smash hit "Dynamite"

There are five all-color coded slides along with the form identifiers listed next to each phrase. Discuss form with the students and teach them (by rote) the rhythms on the powerpoint with the corresponding repeats (most are repeated 3 times). A game that will keep your students entertained, engaged, and competitively charged with identifying chord quality, here's One "Minor" Imposter inspired by "Among Us"!

IN ONE MINOR IMPOSTER, YOU WILL LISTEN TO 2, 3, 4 EVEN 5 CREWMATES PLAY MAJOR CHORDS ONE BY ONE. ONE OF THE MAJOR CHORDS IS ACTUALLY NOT THE MAJOR CHORD PERFORMED!

YOUR TASK IS TO DECIDE WHICH CREWMATE IS THE IMPOSTER BY SELECTING THE CREWMATE WHO PLAYED THE MINOR CHORD INSTEAD OF THE MAJOR CHORD

HERE WILL BE ONLY ONE CREWMATE WHO IS THE IMPOSTER

In each example is a piano/guitar/harpsichord mix with different background percussion tempos to keep the kids engaged. Each crewmate, lined up on the powerpoint (1, 2, 3, etc) will be representative of the musical example played.

Use this lesson extension to the classic book "Bear Says Thanks" by Karma Wilson to engage your students further in this classic. Discuss gratitude and why it is important, then teach them the chant that will go along with this book. Additional rhythm vs. steady beat charts help to explain and reinforce differences between the two. Follow up with decoding worksheets to help students match words with their correct rhythm pattern. Adaptable for grades PreK-2nd grade. Great to use during Thanksgiving time, or any other time of the year that students need reminders about being thankful!

In a competitive solfege syllable naming game, you can practice your do-re-mi while getting out a little energy with your students! In Throw Re Mi, students will be split into groups (boys vs girls, colors vs colors, teams vs teams, however you wish) and one representative will stand in front of the whiteboard to represent their team. They will both use one suction cup ball to play the game (can be found at the dollar store or Target for a few bucks!)

They will be shown a solfege hand sign and see two or three corresponding circles above the hand sign. One of those circles will be the correct syllable (DO or RE, MI or TI, FA or LA, etc) -- encourage your students to throw their ball to the correct answer... whoever gets it the fastest wins (advance it to the next slide to reveal the answer in blue)

Also included is in an advanced round, called Throw Re Mi - Remix where it's flipped. The solfege hand signs will be on the top and the syllable on the bottom!
