This resource was created in order to help Speech Language Pathologists target initial phonemes at the word level. This resource includes a total of 40 pictured initial /h/ CV and CVC words to use the h-insertion trick during speech therapy sessions.

The h-insertion trick can be an extremely helpful strategy to use when children are stuck at the isolation level of a sound. By producing /h/ after the initial sound, the child continues their air flow, making it easier to produce the following vowel. This helps them to eliminate the prior habit of producing the incorrect sound.

Spring short vowel mini set - Included is one of each of the activities featuring short a.

Students will write and wipe or use manipulative letters. Students will build letters using flower petals, tap out sounds with Mr. Frog, and slowly talk with Mr. Turtle. Turtle and Frog are ready to be printed and attached to popsicle sticks for hopping / walking along each word. Use them again and again in your small groups or centers.

French Jour du Souvenir Activity Pack:

Fun and engaging activity sheets to reinforce and explore French Phonics SOUNDS in the Kindergarten to Grade 3 French Immersion classroom. Students will love the intriguing graphics and have fun finding the target sounds, searching for Remembrance Day vocabulary, and building encoding and decoding skills with each activity. How to prepare this resource:

Prep for this activity DOES INCLUDE SOME TIME ON YOUR PART! Make a copy of each page, insert into clear pocket, dry erase pocket, or use as individual worksheets and watch as the giggles get started. My students LOVE these activities. I cannot make them fast enough.

Detailed instructions for each activity are set out at the top of each activity and could not be easier.

There is a little cutting and laminating involved with some activities but many use clear folders to make your job easier!

Perfect for a sub binder, emergency plans, or as a back up activity when you happen to have a few minutes to spare. A great set to have on hand as an extra centre activity at Remembrance Day/Veteran's Day time. Your K-3 Immersion students will love them!

When to use this resource in the classroom:

Introducing Compound Word Bingo – an engaging activity for students to practice decoding Compound Words! This game is designed to help students develop their skills decoding skills with multisyllabic words!

Each of the 30 unique Bingo cards contains 24 randomly selected compound words. Calling cards are also included. The 24 words are chosen from a list of 60 words, so each Bingo card has a unique combination. Bingos should be frequent but not every word appears on every card.

Students will blend the words multiple times throughout the game facilitating orthographic mapping!
