This can be a fun activity during October or during Halloween. Have the students solve the monster's triple digit addition and subtraction equations. This 3-digit addition and subtraction worksheet has students practice regrouping numbers. This worksheet also comes with two different extension activities for your students who may finish fast. One page is all addition practice and the other is all subtraction practice. Then there is one page where the problems are mixed and students will need to pay attention to whether they add or subtract the 3-digit numbers.

Extension Activities: A fun extension sheet can be stapled to students worksheet to give them a little extra challenge.

1. Once they have found their answer by adding or subtracting the number, they can color the monster red or blue based off if the solution is odd or even.

4. Key to Escape: If the answer is correct, students cut out the box at the top right corner of the clue sheet (the "key") then stick the "key" onto their escape sheet.
5. On to the Next Challenge: Once they have the "key," provide the next clue sheet (or envelope) for them to tackle.
6. Escape Achieved! The first group to finish all the clues and fill their escape sheet with "keys" wins the game!

It really depends on a lot of things. Estimated completion time is 30-45 minutes but it’s based on the kids’ puzzle skills, group size, and age. We recommend ages 6-10 years old.

These multiplication fact booklets can be used to help students understand the concept of multiplication through repeated addition using equal groups as well as help them memorize multiplication facts. There are twelve total booklets (1 facts-12 facts) that are each seven pages long and are cut into half to make a booklet that's 14 pages in total. Each booklet also contains a facts page for the multiplication fact so the student can refer to it if necessary. Check out the blog post about these booklets here.

The counting items are winter themed, so this is suitable for incorporation into a winter unit, however, it can be used at any time to introduce the concept of multiplication through repeated addition.

On each page students will fill in the blanks for the following details:

• number of equal groups
• number of counting items for the groups shown (e.g. number of hearts on the mitten, number of marshmallows in the cup, etc)
• write the repeated addition equation for the groups shown (not present in the 1's fact booklet) and add up the total. There is one blank for each group, so the 12 booklet has 12 blanks to fill.
• number of groups of counting items (e.g. 3 groups of 4, or 5 groups of 6 and so on)
• Finally, they will write the multiplication statement. This will help them to connect the repeated addition equation to the multiplication fact that they have written down and the answers can be compared to check whether they are the same.

The booklets can be used as morning work, bell work, extra activities for early finishers, or even homework. The booklets come in one version, for front only copies.

Teaching students these multiplication foundations, is a tremendous help to students as they work on math fluency and automaticity.
