This is a 25-page resource for Spanish teachers, perfect for beginner learners or native speakers.

It includes:

• Five fall-themed short poems, each accompanied by a vocabulary sheet for students to cut and paste key vocabulary.
• The resource offers three differentiated versions of each poem:
  • a reading version for highlighting rhyming words,
  • a cloze activity for completing the poem with key terms, and
  • a tracing activity for practicing key vocabulary. Ideal for engaging young students in seasonal language learning.

This is a holiday word Cinquain. Have students choose a holiday subject or focus on words around the month of December. Then they use the instructions to write their own word Cinquain. This is a fun poetry printable that you can add to a writing center or have each student do individually.

French Immersion teachers in the Kindergarten to Grade Three classroom and those teaching beginner French students. Can be used at the Grade 4-6 level with Core French students learning to segment and blend complex sounds.

What grade level:

I personally use these activities with 1st and 2nd Grade students in French Immersion. I feel confident that students from K-3 will find these most useful and teachers can come back to them year after year with their students. Core French teachers will be sure to add the resource to their repertoire for Grades 4 to 6 as they learn to read and write at the Junior level.

This is a science non-fiction text about rainbows written with upper elementary students in mind. It is paired with the tie-dyed milk experiment (which in this case you can call it the "make a rainbow experiment)." Writing a Ballad Stanza Poem can be a fun and interesting project for your students. Students will learn what a stanza and a verse are, what poems are called when they have a different amount of lines. Students will also learn what is included in a ballad stanza poem and which lines rhyme. An example of three possible poem theme ideas, a ballad stanza poem example, a ballad stanza poem brainstorming chart, and 3 ballad stanza poem templates are included in this product.

How can I incorporate poetry into my daily/weekly lessons? You may have asked yourself this question. Solid Read Alouds is the answer! Solid Read Alouds connect poetry to your classroom read aloud. Solid Read Alouds not only connect poetry but enhance your curriculum with monthly themes and national observance days. Is your favorite snack popcorn? You will enjoy connecting to the Popcorn Read Aloud and sharing the fun with your students. The Popcorn Read Aloud is designed for a daily, one week time period. However, the unit can easily be stretched into two weeks or incorporated into a writing workshop. The read aloud will include: poetry, partner activity, and nonfiction selection. The unit also includes: comprehension work, anchor chart ideas and printables, grammar game, penmanship work and . This product is designed to enhance your curriculum, incorporate poetry, and infuse common core state standards into your teaching. The Solid Read Aloud product can easily be completed in approximately a daily 15-minute mini lesson.

1.      Same Picture Four Settings- Students are given a partial character drawing and asked to draw that character in four different settings. There are two ways to complete this assignment. I have provided a list of possible settings to draw out (students would pick these out of a hat/bowl, OR they could choose four from the list to use).

2.      Describe the Setting-Five different pictures are given. You can give it to students at random or give it to all five students. Their instructions are to (using complete sentences) describe the setting.

3.      Setting for any book- Use this chart to help students fill out their knowledge of the setting of any book.
