7th Grade Review Game - EOY All Standards - Game Show Review
By The M-Intercept
7th grade math teachers - looking for a great way to review concepts at the End of the Year? Need a great test prep tool to review before state assessments, the SBAC, or Common Core tests, or just play at the end of the year in 7th grade math.
Students will love this Jeopardy-like game to review Common Core standards. Categories include RATIOS & PROPORTIONS, NUMBER SYSTEMS, EXPRESSIONS & EQUATIONS, GEOMETRY, PROBABILITY & STATISTICS, AND VOCABULARY. Points range from 100 - 500, which reflect the increase in difficulty from 100-point basic review questions to 500-point questions that require students to apply their knowledge.
**FULLY EDITABLE** While the game is complete, it is also editable in PowerPoint, making it easy to add questions or change the level of difficulty based on your students' needs.
⭐RATIOS & PROPORTIONS: involve using a line on a coordinate plane to solve real-world problems, equivalent ratios, percent change, and sales tax.
⭐NUMEBR SYSTEMS: in this category students identify rational numbers, solve expressions with integers and rational numbers, and convert a fraction to an equivalent decimal
⭐EXPRESSIONS & EQUATIONS: these problems have students identify equivalent expressions of varying difficulty, solve and graph an inequality, and for 500 points solve a challenging multistep equation
⭐GEOMETRY: questions involve finding missing angle measurements, finding the circumference of a circle, using scale factor to find a side length, finding the ara of a composite shape (made up of a rectangle and semicircle), and finding the volume of a composite shape
⭐PROBABILITY & STATISTICS: students must understand if something is likely or unlikely, find the probability of an event occurring (both simple and complex), and estimate using probability
⭐VOCABULARY : questions ask about inequalities, parts of an expression, circle vocabulary, types of angle vocabulary, and formulas for finding area

One Step & Two Step Equations | Introducing Algebra
By LittleStreams
This is the third worksheet in our Introducing Algebra series.
This pack is filled with worksheets designed to introduce students to solving equations. It starts with simple equations that can be solved in one step, and covers two step equations. Each worksheet is differentiated 3 ways.
Also included are the same worksheets, but put into differentiated workbooks, so you can hand these to your students to use as homework, or an ongoing project.
The worksheets consist of the following:
Worksheet 1 Introducing Simple Equations - introduces students to the idea of one step equations using shapes.
Worksheet 2 One Step Equations - solidifies one step equations, and for the first two differentiations, it includes a guide of how to perform them.
Worksheet 3 One Step Crossword - The final worksheet that covers one step equation, a crossword style puzzle.
Worksheet 4 Introducing Two Step Equations - introduces two step equations using both the scales approach and the bar method.
Worksheet 5 Two Step Equations - continues to solidify two step equations, with differentiations 1 and 2 having a guide on how to solve two step equations.
Worksheet 6 Two Step Crossword - another crossword, focusing on two steps this time.
Worksheet 7 Two Step Word Link - a fun activity involves linking equations with their solution. By joining the solutions, students will draw a line though various letters, which, when unscrambled, will spell out a mathematical word.
Worksheet 8 Two Step Maze - another fun activity, this time a maze where students find their way by selecting the correct values.
Worksheet 9 Secret Code - involves solving equations to uncover a hidden message featuring a fun fact.
Worksheet 10 Geometry Equations -
a challenge that involves students forming and solving two step equations through geometric problems.
This is available in a bundle along side Factoring and substitution, One and Two step equations, Forming and solving Linear Equations and Sequences and nth Term. If you get the bundle, you'll also receive a free revision test and check list. (If you have purchased these individually, or bought 3 workbooks from the bundle, get in touch at littlestreams@gmail.com and we will send you the revision booklet in an email).
Writing Single Variable Equations BTC Thin Slicing Lesson | Grade 8 Math
By EZMath
This lesson has everything you need to teach a "Thin Slicing" lesson on writing single variable equations from a word problem or real world scenario. These progressively challenging task cards start students with simple algebraic expressions and sentences, then lead students to write equations involving variables on both sides and equations with multiple unknown quantities. This lesson with printable task cards uses Building Thinking Classrooms strategies for teaching math created by Peter Liljedahl. If you have been looking to implement the Building Thinking Classrooms model of instruction, but don't know where to start, this is a great resource for you.
This lesson includes the following materials:
Once the thin slicing lesson is complete, students can use the provided notes template to record their thinking, as well as complete a "Check Your Understanding" exit ticket to give you and your students formative assessment feedback on how they are understanding the topic.
If you enjoy this product, please leave a review and check out my other products. I will be adding more Thin Slicing lessons in the future based on this model.
