Students can answer these questions as the book is read or after they have finished reading the book or listening to the book. While reading this book and answering these questions, students will learn about pollution, endangered animals, surviving in our environment, importance of clean air, water, and healthy soil to grow food, planting trees when trees are cut down, ecology, conservation, recycling, reducing pollution in your community, things to recycle, and how to help your environment. In this packet, students can also complete a mini endangered animal report where they will be required to chose an endangered animal from the list provided and answer questions about that animal, such as where it lives (habitat), what it eats, how long it lives for, interesting facts about that animal, etc. Students can answer the short answer questions, yes/no questions, multiple choice questions, and vocabulary/picture labeling questions as the book is read to them, as they read the book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and examples of the words used in sentences are presented. Students have the opportunity to use those words in sentences as well.

Access your forced copy of the Google Doc with the article on solar eclipses. Allow students to read, take notes in the margin, and summarize the article by answering the essential question at the top.
Go to the last slide to add your own discussion prompts.
Click "File" then "Download" and then "PDF" to download the prompts as a PDF document.
Print, cut, and laminate a set of cards for each of your groups of 4-5 students.
Print, cut, and laminate talking chips.
Put students into groups of 4-5.
Decide how many talking chips each student gets (this encourages participation during the dialogue and teaches students how to use social cues when deciding when to share, instead of raising a hand).
One student draws a card from the top. That student asks the question and dialogue begins in the group. Students should have the short story handy so they can use evidence in their responses.
When dialogue dies down, students continue taking turns drawing a card, asking questions. and having discussions.
Students should discard the questions already asked so they don't repeat any.

Forms of Energy Adapted Notes and Review

In this product, different forms of energy are reviewed. Students will learn that energy exists in other forms, what energy is, how you can't always see energy, stored energy vs. energy in motion and examples for students to make connections with each, kinetic energy, examples of kinetic energy for students to make connections with it in real life, students will locate and circle the different kinds of kinetic energy, potential and kinetic energy and how it can go back and forth (picture explanations are also included to provide a visual), different forms of energy - electrical, light, sound, thermal, chemical, and mechanical energy are reviewed - their meanings and examples of each along with pictures so students can make connections with what they are learning in their personal life, what matter is and how it is in chemical energy, and energy transformation picture examples are provided. Students will then be required to write down the different types of energy that change to other kinds of energy when they are provided with picture examples. Students will also be required to draw picture and write down the forms of energy that were used to show energy transformation. At the end of the product, students can complete the review that includes short answer and multiple choice questions.
Throughout the product, students will answer short answer comprehension questions to ensure comprehension after reviewing each page of notes.
