In this lesson, students learn fun facts about St. Patrick’s Day as they complete a WebQuest (Internet Scavenger Hunt) to answer questions about the topic. A complete answer key is provided for easy grading, along with resources for both teachers and students. Two versions of the WebQuest are included to let teachers print the questions or to provide them digitally as an interactive page in an editable Microsoft PowerPoint file.  Additionally, a word search puzzle (with answer key) is included to use for early finishers or as a part of the lesson.

This lesson was designed for middle school (grades 6-8) but could be used in upper elementary as well.

This game includes 40 words. Many of the words will be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word. La Saint Patrick - French Dots and Boxes Activity

An easy and fun no-prep game that will elicit a lot of exposure to 24 different St. Patrick's Day French themed words. This is a one-page dots & boxes game including directions. This game could be laminated and used repeatedly with dry-erase markers or played on an iPad with annotation/whiteboard tools.

Objective: Complete more boxes than your opponent. Each player draws lines using a different color. On your turn, make a horizontal or vertical line from one dot to another. Say the words on either side of the line you drew. If you complete a box on your turn, draw an X in the box using your color. Once all of the boxes have been completed, count to see who got the most.
