In yoga, the Yamas & Niyamas are a moral code of conduct, a guideline for how to live. Together, the Yamas & Niyamas help us to make careful decisions about how to think, speak, and behave. This foundational thinking prepares children to form healthy relationships with themselves and others.

The resource includes a set of flashcards featuring 95 Dolch nouns, which are important words that kids and students need to know in order to read fluently.

The flashcards are designed with bright and engaging visuals to help students better understand and remember the words they are learning. Each card features the Dolch noun in English, as well as translations of the word in multiple languages: Chinese (simplified/Red), Arabic (Violet), Russian (Green), and Spanish (Brown), allowing students to practice and reinforce their knowledge in different languages.

his 29-page resource with 20 primary sources plus three DBQ prompts gives students a chance to delve deeper into the challenges, obstacles and finally the success of the suffrage movement. The first page includes an Overview, Notes on Primary Sources and Definitions.

Here’s a chance for students to read documents that shed light on various opinions in favor and against suffrage, the differences of opinions within the movement as to strategy and how racial segregation played a role in the movement.

Assign just one, a few or all of the sources depending on time constraints and student interest.

Primary sources include letters, photos, reports and other documents. Each page of primary sources includes questions at the end in order for students to analyze perspectives, consider key ideas and identify bias.

Included is a one-page sheet that explains what primary sources are and how to analyze them using specific questions through a process called HAPPY. There is also a page at the end for students to apply the HAPPY process to one source.

Three DBQ prompts are included at the end with instructions on how to create a response to the prompt. An Answer Key to all the questions and the DBQ prompts are available at the end of the packet.

This is excellent practice for all high school students, particularly Honors and AP students, but all students will find these resources engaging.

Looking for a Halloween-themed, engaging and informative reading comprehension activity? This scavenger hunt is designed to help students practice skim reading, looking for context clues, and learn some useful vocabulary.

It’s perfect for EFL / ESL students at the B1/B2 level and can also be used for native English classes at grade levels 5th - 7th. With low prep, just print and hang, it contains 10 reading passages connected with Bram Stoker’s book Dracula.

The scavenger hunt is designed so that students have to revisit and reread the reading passages multiple times when looking for code words. The answer to each question is located on a different reading passage card. Once students have answered all the questions, they unscramble the letters to reveal the final answer - the name of the murderer.

• Discussion Question Handouts: Thirty-five pages of deeply thought-provoking discussion questions! One double-sided handout containing 8-10 questions for each of the book's 10 sections. The discussion questions are the beating heart of these lesson plans. Every discussion question is grounded in concrete textual details and challenges students to arrive at lucid interpretive insights! The questions could be used to focus students’ thinking prior to beginning a discussion, to foster in-class writing such as stop-and-jots, or to assign written reflections for homework. • Quotation Race Worksheet: Students work in pairs to identify the speakers of 30 key quotations from Maus. Introduce this fun activity when you need to mix things up, or to refresh students' memories in preparation for the AP exam. Answer key included. (4 pages)

• Vocabulary Lists: Lists of 8 vocabulary words for every chapter, complete with definitions and sample sentences with the words as they are used in Maus. A total of 80 words. (10 pages)

• Reading & Vocabulary Quizzes: Daily quizzes with 10 questions on the nightly reading homework plus another 5 questions on the vocabulary words. If you choose not to have your students study vocabulary, you can still use the portion of the quiz devoted to reading comprehension. Grading these quizzes is simple and quick.
