Students use nonstandard or standard units of measure (metric or customary), so it's great for Kindergarten through 5th grade! Great for an ongoing math station, just change it out with one of my other seasonal/holiday sets to keep it fresh and engaging!

This set has 24 colorful themed measurement cards (on 14 pages). Each card is labeled "A, B, C, etc.." and a recording page is given to match. The 24 cards are provided in 2 sets of 12 with each set having a different color border for recording sake. Students circle which set they are using on the recording sheet. The recording page allows for the student to fill in the unit of measure they are working with, unifix cubes, cm. cubes, beans, paperclips, inches, centimeters, etc... so it is very open ended to suit the needs of your curriculum and students abilities. You can print the recording sheet double sided (early finishers) and ask them to measure using 2 different units of measure.

French HALLOWEEN Cutie Pairs Writing Prompt

A terrific, no prep activity for your blossoming K-4 French writers who may be struggling to take risks with their writing skills. The students absolutely LOVE this activity and have been asking me for days when we get to do ‘le gateau et la crème glacée’. I gradually give students autonomy by giving them the freedom to talk about what they think the Food Pairs have in common.

What to do:

Make a class set of copies of one of the cutie pairs.

Students colour, write, and cut out the writing strip.

Finally, students cut and paste the ends of the writing strip to the back of each item in the pair. Fold in the middle and students can show the big reveal!

Attach these monsters to square tissue boxes and your students will be ready to answer and solve problems with their cookies as they feed the monsters. This is such a highly motivating hands on way to teach math. Where is the black cat? This pumpkin themed sight word game is great for students who are practicing sight word recognition and beginning reading skills. This game can be used in a pocket chart or on a table top for an early education classroom.

The cards are available in two formats, 6 to a page and 4 to a page to accommodate different sized pocket charts.

How to Play:

Where's the Black Cat is a game for centers or whole group instruction where a cat is hidden behind a pumpkin. A poem is chanted where the student(s) must say the sight word they think the cat is behind. Once guessed, the sight word is removed. If the cat is behind the pumpkin, then the cat must be hidden again to play further. If the cat is not behind the pumpkin, then the poem is chanted again with a new sight word.

Use this cute, PUMPKIN SHAPE BINGO to learn or review shapes! Students will work on their fine motor skills as they trace each shape as it is called. This can be done with your class or as a small group.
