Move and breathe through a childhood classic. The Napping House by Don and Audrey Wood has been a favorite story in my classes for years, and with a librarian’s suggestion, I brought it to life through yoga for the first time in 2012. Now accompanied by our beautiful illustrations, we can use this yoga sequence to promote a lifelong love of learning, reading, and healthy habits.

Each of the characters in the story is paired with a yoga pose, and each page adds another character in order. As the sequence builds, the poses come together in a beautiful flow. Do the poses as you read, or read and then do the poses—whatever feels the best to you.

This bundle is a great addition to your fall math and literacy centers. The letter task cards have both Uppercase and lowercase letters. The students can practice matching the correct letters together by clipping the clothes pins onto the lowercase letter that matches the Uppercase one on each card. The number task cards have different numbers of fall-themed items on each one. Your students will count how many items are on each card and then clip the clothespin onto the correct number. Welcome to our Goodnight Moon Scrappy Story Quilt coloring activity! Bring the beloved children's book to life with this fun and interactive crafting project.

After reading the story Goodnight Moon, students will create a Goodnight Moon Scrappy Story Quilt.

- Cut and paste Goodnight Moon patches

- Assemble and color your very own Scrappy Quilt

Scrappy Patchwork Quilts

A scrappy quilt uses a variety of different fabrics that may or may not use a consistent theme. In this new version of cut and paste, students will make a scrappy quilt using a variety of pattern blocks included in the activity. The students must complete a set of questions or activities to know what numbered pattern to use and where it should be placed on their quilt. Each quilt has its own color scheme (color chart) and those are the colors students will need to create a one-of-a-kind scrappy quilt. Each quilt comes with a header, and some have additional activities students must complete to finish their quilts. Each quilt once assembled with header is 11x14 inches (does not include the size if a quilt has an additional activity).

One of my favorite activities at the beginning of the year is to read the story Chrysanthemum and send home this homework sheet to learn more about my new kiddos. Give the parents some homework for a change!

This resource has 2 options for homework to send home to learn how your students were given their names.
