An Escape Room activity about the origins of Easter and the modern traditions around the world. Ideal for fifth grade or sixth grade, the activity is perfect for group work; a great holiday activity; team-building activities; or for a fun, engaging and interactive lesson. The activity can be used in English class as it incorporates some ELA skills or in Social Studies.

The activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room.

In Task 1 students will read an informational text about Easter and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.

In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.

In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards about important holidays or festivals celebrated in the United States and around the world. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.

In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.

Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.

Writing a story about a pet Peep is a project for your students to show their creativity. This product includes information to share with your students about what a story is, what is shared in a story, who the audience can be, what is the author's purpose for writing a story, and how the story can be published. The main Christian holiday, Easter, commemorates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day following his crucifixion. Although the commemoration of Jesus' Resurrection most likely took place earlier, the first known Easter celebration dates to the second century.

In the Christian calendar, Easter comes after Lent, which is 40 days before to Easter (excluding Sundays) and is customarily marked by fasting and penance. Holy Week, which encompasses Good Friday, the day of Jesus' crucifixion; Maundy Thursday, the celebration of his Last Supper with his followers; and Holy Saturday, the period between his crucifixion and resurrection, comes right before Easter.

This lesson plan on the history of Easter will last 90 minutes. It includes the various teaching stages and their duration. Photocopiable students' worksheet are also included, along with their answer sheet. Looking for a no prep and engaging Easter activity that also helps your students practice Pythagorean Theorem? Let your seventh graders practice Pythagorean Theorem while they solve the mystery in this fun digital escape room activity.

Based on the premise that the rabbit needs help to find four eggs, your students will explore different locations full of activities. After completing all four activities they will find the eggs.

There are 20 problems on Pythagorean theorem and its converse.

Since this escape room is online (interactive pages) there is very little prep; just provide the link, and off they go! There are no locks to configure or clues to hide—everything you need is online. No Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams logins are necessary.

You can use it as:
