Sequencing Pictures

By SEN Resource Source

Sequencing pictures for children to cut out and order of events.

Why do you need this?

Sequencing pictures can help children understand the chronological order of events in a story or narrative. Teachers can use them to reinforce storytelling skills and support comprehension.

Working with sequencing pictures encourages critical thinking as children analyze the sequence of events and identify the correct order. It promotes problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Sequencing activities promote language development by encouraging children to describe the events depicted in the pictures. It provides opportunities for vocabulary expansion and oral language practice.

How and when might you use this?

This activity could be used in a variety of ways such as:

· Early learning centers

· Small group instruction to provide targeted support

· Speech and language support

· Independent work stations

For continued use I would recommend laminating this resource and using Velcro to move the jigsaw pieces around.

What is included?

Included are 11 boards showing first, next, then, last. Each board has 4 sequencing pictures to order. Sequencing pictures include:

· Making the bed

· Making breakfast cereal

Secret Mission Behavior Management Activity to encourage positivity

By Until the Pieces Fit

Are you looking for an easy way to improve student behaviors? This is a fun, easy, print and go activity.

I use the secret missions with my students. Simply print the packet, cut out, and post the missions in your room (be sure to cover each mission with a "secret mission" card".

Then the magic begins. Each morning during your morning meeting time chose a kiddo to uncover a mission. Discuss the mission, the importance of it, what it looks like. I generally have a secret task force who also watches for the behaviors. Then when your children are "caught" they earn a party point/tally/ball (whatever reinforcer you use) for your class. Currently my kids are working to earn hot chocolate with toppings.

I hope this is something fun for you and your kiddos. Please be sure to follow me for additional resources and updates!

Alphabet Beginning Sounds Clip Card

By The Chatty Kinder

These Alphabet Beginning Sounds Clip Cards are perfect for practicing those tricky beginning sounds. Grab these Alphabet Wheels for some Alphabet Beginning sounds practice.

  • This printable is included in the Clip Cards Bundle.

These hands-on and engaging Alphabet wheels are designed for young children who are learning to differentiate between initial letter sounds. Each wheel features both the upper and lower case letter, and focuses on a single letter and sound.

Children will use wooden clothespin and clip the words that starts with the sound around the circle. This activity is ideal for learners who are familiar with the 26 letter sounds and need practice differentiating between beginning sounds in words.

For each wheel learners only need to clip four options. For example, for the letter Aa, learners will clip astronaut, ant, alligator and apple. They will leave out bat, mixer, police officer and zebra, since these words start with letters other than Aa.

The printable contains wheels for Letters A-Z. There are a total of 27 wheels. The letter X has two wheels; one for the words that start with Xx (x-ray, xylophone etc) and the other wheel contains words that end with Xx (mix, box, etc).

The printable is offered in two options.

- A single wheel per page

- Two wheels per page

This printable can be used to strengthen fine motor skills, explore during morning work or used as supplemental literacy/math centers.

The centers are best used once printed on cardstock and/or laminated. You can choose to implement these centers in an independent way or use with small-groups.
