J'ai... Qui a...? (I have... Who has...?)

This great French phonics game is a fantastic way to get your students talking. Students of every grade absolutely love this easy to use card game. The easy prep cards can be made in colour or black and white and can be used with words or without, depending on the level of French phonological awareness that they have acquired.

If they are only setting out in their French journey, try cards with no words and watch them get talking. With students that have been learning with the Science of Reading, decoding and blending are the next steps.

Once students have all the simple sounds (sons simples) in French, we start to introduce complex sounds (sons complexes). I usually teach OU first and then AN. This allows students to now be able to decode hundreds of words.

Activity Cards include:

Once you have established the strategies for identifying sounds, initial sounds, and blending sounds, segmenting sounds, students will be able to use these self-driven phonics game cards on their own. What a great way to build learning autonomy!

I personally use these texts with Grade 1 and Grade 2 students in French Immersion. My favourite game to practice German verb conjugations (schwache, starke, trennbare, reflexive, Misch-, Modalverben, Verben auf -eln und -ern**.** It can be used in any tense. No prep, just PRINT AND GO.

This is my go-to game when I need to drill some grammar into my students. It's by far the most efficient grammar game. I love it because it's so easy to use. And my students love it because it doesn't feel like learning when, in fact, they do a TON of learning. We can easily spend the whole lesson playing battleship and they want to keep on playing even after the bell rings.

It's also a great activity for substitute lessons or when I'm in a time press and don't have much time to prepare for a lesson.

How to play:

• It can be played in pairs or in small teams
• Hide your ships in the left field. They mustn't touch.
• Form sentences in order to "hit" the enemy ships in the right field.
• If your enemy hits your ship, indicate that in the left field. If you hit your enemy's ship, mark it down in the right field. If you miss, mark it down as well. If you hit your enemy's ship, have another go.
• To win, sink all of your enemy's ships before he sinks yours.

Tic Tac Toe is a fun game that your students already know how to play, and it is a simple way to get them conjugating, writing, and speaking the irregular verb savoir in the futur simple.

This resource includes two worksheets with 6 tic-tac-toe grids per page. One worksheet is for speaking answers, and the other one is for writing them. Photocopy on the front and back for a no-prep set of 12 grids for differentiated learning.

Students play in pairs, conjugating savoir so that it agrees with the subject pronoun in each box, saying answers aloud or writing them to claim squares on tic tac toe grids. Three correctly conjugated verbs in a row wins the game. Students need to use different colored pens or markers when writing their answers.

With a total of 10 boards and an editable template, students can practice 11 Spanish vocabulary color words! These games are perfect for centers, tutorials, small groups, homeschooling, homework, sub plans and more! Students will practice vocabulary words by rolling a physical or digital dice using the provided qr code, and then reading the matching nonsense word, and coloring the box using the correct matching color.

What's Included

• 10 Roll and Read Boards with colors in spanish

Directions

Materials Needed:

• One of the 10 worksheets or the editable template where you add your own words
• A regular six-sided die
• Colors
• Optional: A device with a QR code scanner (phone, tablet, etc.)

Rolling the Die:

• Students roll a six-sided die to determine which color word they read in Spanish.
• Students can also scan the QR code on the worksheet using a device with a QR code scanner to access a virtual dice roller.

Reading the Word:

• Students match the number rolled with the corresponding color word on their worksheet.
• Students read aloud the color in Spanish to practice pronunciation.

Marking Progress:

• Once students read a word, they should shade in color the box using the color that matches the Spanish word read.
• If students roll a number they have already completed, they should roll again until they land on a new word.
• Students continue rolling and reading until they have completed all the words on their worksheet.

With this game, learners have less than 15 seconds to race against the clock and translate the number, color, or shape represented by the highlighted word. Here's the twist: The possible responses start disappearing after time. Incorrect answers lose points and correct answers earn points. Not only that, the faster they answer correctly, the more points they earn.
