SPANISH SCATTEGORIES: ¡Páreme la mano!
By La Llama Bilingüe
Scattegories is a fun and challenging board game that tests your creativity and quick thinking. I have recreated a classroom version for SPANISH LEARNERS called: ¡PÁREME LA MANO! also called in other countries, TUTTI FRUTI o PARA EL FUEGO. This is a fun game we used to play in school growing up in South America. I have tried in my own classroom and kids LOVE IT! This is such a great game to practice vocabulary and parts of the speech.
This product contains two versions of this game. One for individual play and one for a group game. There are a set of rules for both games but these are just suggested rules as you can set your own depending of the group of kids you teach. Kids will only need a dice, a white board marker and a wiper.

Quiz Quiz Trade Novice Spanish Getting to Know You speaking activity in Present
By Spanish Teacher Stuff
Get your students out of their seats to ask and answer questions using the present tense while getting to know each other. This is a great community building or social emotional activity for your Spanish classroom.
Set a timer for the activity depending on how long you would like them to practice.
Give one card to each student asking and answering the questions on their cards.
After each student of the pair asks and answers the questions, the students switch cards and give each other a high five. The high five adds community-building to this activity.
With his/her new card, s/he raises his/her hand to find a new partner to repeat the process.
Teacher should circulate while the students are talking to encourage them to speak only Spanish.
After the time is up, collect the cards and then discuss the questions/answers and any difficulties they had while answering the questions.

PERSONAL VALUES Workbook Unit | Health Education Curriculum - SPANISH VERSION
By All Therapy Resources
This workbook allows you to reflect and gain insight into who you are – Discovering and clarifying your values, identity and sense of belonging. We say “discover” or “clarify” because our values are already a part of us. We just need to dig a little and find them. Knowing and living your values is essentially a map on how to be more authentic (or more yourself).
Your personal values are like a roadmap to live your life by. The destination is your authentic expression. They will provide you with clarity and vision, as well as confidence to stay the distance. Knowing your values means that you can easily get back on track even if you stray off the path.
Everyone has personal values. By acknowledging and living your values you bring an awareness and rhythm to your life, a sense of inner peace and understanding. Aligning yourself with your values can also help you to live an authentic life.
By exploring and narrowing down your personal values through this workbook you are clarifying what is important to you and show a commitment to making those values a priority.
This mini-lesson explores the following:
-Personal Values are important – why?
-I know who I am (worksheet)
-What are values?

Project Spanish Reading Assessment Activity - Smash Doodles with Rubric
By Cheryl Bennett
Smash Doodles are a great way to assess Spanish reading while encouraging creativity. I love using this at the end of the year to demonstrate that a student can read independently and show what they know. Plus, it's easy to grade!
The set up for these Smash Doodles (along with the rubric) make it easy to grade.
Included:
1. Instructions
2. Sample sentence starters (including a couple that would be great for subjunctive practice)
3. Sample image
4. Smash Doodle Sheet that students fill out to make sure they meet all the criteria.
5. A second Smash Doodle Sheet that allows for more creativity
6. Easy to use rubric.
7. Criteria that pushes students to think critically and make use of best practices in reading comprehension.
So, what is it?
A Smash Doodle is a way to show what students have learned from the chapter or reading assigned. It involves creativity, color, the most important vocabulary, students' thoughts and questions.
Who is it for?
This assignment works for any level of Spanish students. Any reading assignment can work with Smash Doodles. It can be used with novels meant for early language acquirers, short stories, poetry, etc. This assignment is automatically differentiated as students will choose the vocabulary that they need and not simply a list dictated by the teacher.
What does the assignment include?
This particular Smash Doodle assignment includes:
Print at 80% and include in your interactive journals.

Secondary Spanish festivals La Tomatina + Pluperfect tense
By MFL LAB
Engage your students with this 2 pages worksheet, focused on the renowned Spanish festival, La Tomatina. Designed for secondary Spanish students, this resource includes a reading comprehension passage about Nico’s unforgettable experience at the Tomatina festival. Here’s what it includes:
Reading comprehension: Students answer questions in Spanish based on Nico’s story, building skills in understanding authentic-style texts.
Grammar practice: A focused section on the pluperfect tense (pretérito pluscuamperfecto) helps students understand the tense and gain confidence in using this advanced tense to describe actions that happened prior to other past events.
Vocabulary and Writing practice: Key vocabulary and phrases from the text are reinforced with translation exercises, promoting retention of useful language structures related to festivals and personal experiences.
The final writing task encourages students to write about their own hypothetical festival experience, using a mix of the pluperfect and preterite tenses, opinions, and connectors. This task is an excellent way to prepare students for the writing paper of the exam while allowing them to explore cultural themes.
This worksheet can support lessons on cultural topics, serve as effective exam prep, or offer meaningful cover work for independent study.

First Day of School "Language Talk"
By Language Arts Excellence
Whether you teach Spanish, French, German, or Mandarin Chinese, this is the perfect lesson to get your students thinking about the purpose of studying foreign languages!
This product features an engaging "Language Talk" activity that will have your new students thinking, writing, speaking, and moving on the very first day of school. In this activity, they must choose between 6 different quotes about the purpose of learning languages and articulate why the quote aligns with their perspective. I use this lesson every year to set the tone for what I expect in class - it is a great way to gain insight about their current attitudes towards speaking another language while they get to know one another with a higher level thinking activity as opposed to the same-old, same-old icebreaker.
Product includes:
Though I utilize this product on the first day of school, it really can be used all year long. I hope that it is as successful in your class as it is in mine!

AP Spanish Video Las Escuelas Flotantes with Questions and Edpuzzle
By Specialty Spanish
This video listening activity is perfect for students in AP Spanish® Language and Culture in Unit 5: Los factores que influyen en la calidad de vida. This assignment can be used in digital or printed version. Practice listening comprehension while learning about las escuelas flotantes en Argentina. There are 2 versions of this activity to differentiate as needed: Assign this as an Edpuzzle with auto-graded multiple choice questions in Spanish, or use the google doc to have students answer questions in short-answer style in Spanish. Both activities are assignable in Google Classroom!
This resource is INCLUDED in the complete lesson plans linked below!!!
Who is this product for?
How can I use this product?
Edpuzzle link: I created an Edpuzzle using this video. Edpuzzle allows a teacher to pause the video and insert questions at particular points in the video. The questions are inserted into the video right after the answer should have been said. They are in multiple choice format and auto-graded! (You can make your own copy of Edpuzzles and edit the questions if you would like! You can make them short answers, for example). I find Edpuzzle a simpler way for students to answer questions- they don’t need to go back and forth between screens if they are working digitally. All questions are in Spanish.
YouTube video: If you prefer, you can assign this YouTube video. You can print the student questions that follow this answer key. Or you can assign the questions digitally. These questions are short-answer style, and all questions are in Spanish. The questions are divided into 3 five-minute segments of the video so that students have an idea about where in the video they should have heard the answer.
