Taking risks is fairly common in adolescence. Yet, risky behaviors can be associated with serious, long-term, and – in some cases – life threatening consequences. This is especially the case when adolescents engage in more than one harmful behavior. The time will come in almost every teen’s life when they will be confronted with situations that tempt them to engage in risky behaviors. As educators, the best thing we can do is develop their understanding of the consequences associated with various risky behaviors and equip them with tools to say no and to protect themselves. Through ongoing meaningful practices and discussions, we can enhance their understanding of the consequences of risky behaviors and help them prevent themselves from engaging in them.
▶ This resource (Print and Digital) provides multiple opportunities for students to not only develop an understanding of the common different types of risky behaviors and their consequences, but also be exposed to a variety of preventive methods to avoid risky behaviors and/or navigate their way out of them.
▶ Some of the activities/worksheets include REAL LIFE, HIGHLY RELEVANT scenarios that provides students opportunities to practice navigating out of difficult situations associated with risky behaviors. These scenarios also provide students with opportunities to discuss, understand, and role play the variety of effective ways to avoid or decline invitations to participate in risky behaviors.
▶ Detailed Suggested Responses/Answer Keys are included to help you facilitate discussion with students.
▶ This resource is also included in Google Slides! Text boxes have already been created to make it easier for you and your students! Each slide includes two instruction solution tabs for when students accidentally delete text boxes and when they want to zoom in (to enlarge worksheets). It's super helpful for students who are not that familiar with how to use Google Slides or need the extra assistance.
▶ The graphics and clipart in these worksheets are also a great representation of your own students, making the visual appearance of the worksheets highly appealing, relevant, and relatable to them.

Coupon Binder -Teach your students or children the power of saving money
By Regina Frazier
Save lots of money while shopping using coupons. This colorful, cheerful binder organizes your coupons and makes it easier for you to find just the right coupon you are looking for while out shopping. Teach your students or children in your household the value of saving money by saving coupons. Create your own coupon binder by using baseball card holders that you can find at many dollar stores or office supply stores. You can either use a two inch or three inch binder to set it up and place all your dividers in. There are two coupon sorting sheets available. Rather than flipping through the pages in your binder to insert coupons which can take a lot of time, you can use the coupon sorting mats. Once the coupons are all sorted, you can then place them in your binder. Children of all ages can help with sorting the coupons. Many kids can also help out with gathering coupons and cutting them out. Have your students write about ways they can help their family save money. There are a couple of writing prompts that you could use to have your students share ways that they can help their families save money. This does not necessarily mean just using coupons. It could mean saving money by turning off the lights when not in use, not taking long showers, or turning in cans for redemption. Some kids might write about a job they do such as a paper route, mowing the grass or shoveling snow. Some students might choose to discuss buying items on sale at the store and not demanding expensive name brand items."Older students can work on the total amount of savings from using coupons. They can also work on figuring out percentages to show how much money is saved during each shopping trip and totals for each month. If you are interested in this product please download to see a few more pictures of what you will get. This binder includes the following: coupon binder cover front page coupon binder back page coupon binder spine 2inch coupon binder spine 3 inch full page dividers include the following fruits and vegetables dairy frozen foods canned goods meats boxed foods beverages snacks personal care pet care office supplies household restaurants department stores miscellaneous two pages of sorting mats for coupons Monthly Savings Chart two pages of a Writing prompt on ways kids can help their family save money.
