This is a printable Valentine's Day activity with little prep. All you need is a box of conversation hearts for each student. They will use their conversation hearts to write the total fractions of each color and each saying. Once they have written the fractions they will then answer a few questions about their fractions. It's a simple and fun activity that is perfect for a Valentine's Day center.

Cartoon Last Character Standing

Students will be given a list of Cartoon Characters to see how their characters are eliminated over a 10 day period during the Last Character Standing Games. They will be given a pair of dice that will be used to determine if the character moves on to the next day or if they are eliminated. These clip cards are a great way to test students’ knowledge of recognising fractions using a physical multiple choice system. It includes all simpli ed fraction forms from 1/2 to 9/10s, and includes one bonus card of 10/10, and contains fractions in the form of circles, squares, strips and objects. The given possible answers have been carefully chosen to allow teachers to spot any misconceptions students may have about fractions. harvest2020

The idea of this activity is that students work our what fraction of the given image is shaded, then clip a clothespin/peg or a paperclip to what they think is the correct answer.

This activity works equally well when the cards are laminated. Students simply circle the correct answer using a dry erase marker. Alternatively, you can print these on paper, hand out to your class at the end of the lesson, so they can put their names on and circle the correct answer, serving as a great exit ticket/plenary to the lesson.

These cards are in colour, but print equally well in grey scale for cost savings.

Create a flower with this fraction flower craft and center. Students will color each shape on each petal to match the fraction given. Students will get practice dividing shapes into fractions, comparing fractions and working with equivalent fractions.

This product is a digital puzzle that requires students to complete 25 identifying fraction problems. The link to the digital puzzle is on a clickable PDF that you would download once purchased. Students will put the answers in the answer box (numerator/denominator or whole number fraction). This activity is no prep and is self checking. If the student puts the correct answer in, the answer box will turn green and a piece of the digital puzzle will appear in the green box to the right. If the student puts in the wrong answer, the answer box will turn red and no puzzle piece will appear. Fractions represent the parts of a whole or collection of objects. A fraction has two parts. The number on the top of the line is called the numerator. It tells how many equal parts of the whole or collection are taken.  The number below the line is called the denominator.  It shows the total number of equal parts the whole is divided into or the total number of the same objects in a collection. When the whole is divided into equal parts, the number of parts we take makes up a fraction. If a cake is divided into eight equal pieces and one piece of the cake is placed on a plate, then each plate is said to have 1/8 of the cake.

A little fun for Thanksgiving! Find the factors of a number and put them on a turkey feather!

Three level of difficulty to meet all your student needs!

For the first two pages, the students know how many factors they need to find. If they have too many or too few, it is obvious they need to try again. Great for error analysis and self checking!
