This is a perfect math bundle for Valentine's Day. It is aligned with the 3rd grade core, but could be used for any grade 3rd or higher. All you need to do these math pages is a box of conversation hearts for each student.

• There are 2 pages, Math with Conversation Hearts, that have students estimate, round, and make patterns with their hearts in their box.
• There are 2 pages, A Fraction of My Heart, where students will write down the fraction of the different colors and sayings in their conversation box. Then they will answer questions about their fractions.
• There are 2 pages, Graphing with Hearts, where students will graph the different colors they find in their box and also graph the different sayings in their box. Then there are a few questions to answer about their graphs.
• The last page is, Measuring with Hearts, where students will use their hearts to measure different items listed on their page.

This is a simple go to lesson for practicing math skills. It is perfect for Valentine's Day and no prep.

Cartoon Last Character Standing

Students will be given a list of Cartoon Characters to see how their characters are eliminated over a 10 day period during the Last Character Standing Games. They will be given a pair of dice that will be used to determine if the character moves on to the next day or if they are eliminated. This pack contains 30 follow me cards and a record sheet for recording answers, with a space for workings out.

These 30 follow me cards are a great way to revise arithmetic with fractions. Play is similar to dominoes, where the cards are placed end to end with the question to the answers, but each question only has one answer. Students connect the questions and answers together forming a chain, with questions steadily getting harder.

Starting with addition of fractions with the same denominators, the questions quickly progress to addition and subtraction with di erent denominators, multiplication and division with fractions, including mixed numbers.

Some ideas for how to use follow me cards:

-Have students race to connect the cards.

-Have a treasure hunt, around the classroom or outside. Students start with the starter card and record the solutions in the table.

-Students each take ownership of a card, and then get themselves in line correctly with the answers. If there are more than 30 students, assign some students as ‘managers’. If there are less than 30 students, the first students to connect their cards can be given the remaining cards.

- Cut each card in half and give the students a matching activity. They can then glue the answers into their books.

This activity is great to review writing ratios and finding equivalent ratios, especially in real-world examples! Students can find the equivalent ratio for the servings and write ratios to practice formations and order.

What this includes:

- Two booklets designed for independently or partner work.

- Examples of real world baking situations to use ratios.

- The ability to create a restaurant using ratios.

- How to incorporate visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning.

This is a fun activity for students to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and simplification of fractions by converting measurements for a recipe! The recipe comes from Sally's Baking Addiction, and it is her Peanut Butter Bars Recipe. This can be done as a whole group, in small groups, or by individual students. If you have the ability to have the students make the recipe after solving the puzzle, it is totally worth it! They will love being able to make something that they solved a puzzle for and have a delicious treat afterwards.

Students will be given a list of ingredients that have "weird" measurements on them. They will need to convert all of the measurements into the simplest form. Students will have to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and convert fractions from improper fractions to mixed numbers and put all of the measurements into simplest form. Once students solve the puzzle and get the correct answers that match the answer key, then they will receive the steps to prepare the Peanut Butter Bars/Cups. ** I recommend doing the bars. They are definitely easier to do, especially in a classroom setting, but the cups do look better. They both taste the same though.**

This maze worksheet is great to distribute for classwork, homework, math centers, early finishers, or extra practice. These mazes are designed so the student is able to work out each multiplication fraction problem so they can determine the correct direction to complete the maze. It is also designed for easy grading for the teacher.

PDF, Google Slides & PowerPoint versions as well as the answer key are included.

TIP: If you are using this maze for math centers, simply laminate and use dry erase markers. You can use Expo Cleaner with a Magic Eraser to clean off. After a while, it will leave residue and you may have to print and laminate another.

This product is a digital puzzle that requires students to complete 25 converting mixed numbers and improper fractions to each other. The link to the digital puzzle is on a clickable PDF that you would download once purchased. Students will put the answers in the answer box (numerator/denominator or whole number fraction). This activity is no prep and is self checking. If the student puts the correct answer in, the answer box will turn green and a piece of the digital puzzle will appear in the green box to the right. If the student puts in the wrong answer, the answer box will turn red and no puzzle piece will appear.
