By Down in the Art Room
This Cinco de Mayo Art Lesson set has 4 projects plus a game so it may be successfully used with all of your elementary students Kindergarten -5th grade. This product contains 4 Cinco de Mayo art projects with project samples and step-by-step instructions with photos plus so much more. These lessons are loosely based on the artwork of Jasper Johns. Frida Kahlo Escape Room Activity
By Creative Primary Literacy
A Frida Kahlo Escape Room activity. Ideal for fifth grade or sixth grade, the activity is perfect for group work, starting a new art topic, team-building activities or for a fun, engaging and interactive lesson. The activity can be used in English class as it incorporates some ELA skills, in Art or in Social Studies.
The activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room.
Included in this resource:
⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻
In Task 1 students will read an informational text about Frida Kahlo and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.
In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.
In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 task cards about famous artists before putting them in order from the earliest born to the most recently born. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.
In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.
Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.

Printable Hispanic Heritage Figures Money Sheets & Coins for a Classroom Economy
By Kimberly
❤️Looking for printable money you can use in your math centers, to create a classroom economy, or to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month? Use class cash to learn about counting money, adding & subtracting money, the value of money, responsibility, and how different items cost different amounts of money according to their value!
✏️Great for implementing a classroom management system at the beginning of the school year!
.................................................................................................................................................
✅Money sheets, coin sheets, and printable student wallets come in both color and black & white. You can opt to print on colored cardstock or have students color their money!
✅Seven Hispanic Heritage designs to choose from or mix and match!
✅Use the blank design to create your own by adding stickers, your students' faces etc. to the middle of the bills!
✅Create the student wallet by folding the sheet of paper in half and stapling the left and right sides, leaving an opening at the top.
.................................................................................................................................................
⭐️How to Use:
Assign students little classroom jobs (line leader, calendar manager, caboose etc.) and decide how much class cash they can earn each day.
Then, reward your students once a week (or as often as you choose) by allowing them to choose prizes from a prize box!
Prizes can be physical, like stickers, pencils etc. or use prize coupons, like "Eat lunch with the teacher." or "Wear slippers for the day."
You can also choose to deduct class cash for negative behavior, rather than taking away things like recess time, which is important for students.

Day of the Dead Roll a Calavera Game | Art Activity & Assessment
By Down in the Art Room
Students love Day of the Dead. This resource lets students practice their artmaking skills while playing a Roll the Dice game to create a calavera. Simple instructions and game board are included along with multiple choices of blank calaveras for students to create their own unique sugar skull. With high student engagement, this multicultural resource is a great way to bring Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) into your classroom.
This resource includes a game board and instructions plus 2 blank game boards (dice numbers and all categories are included on 1, dice numbers and 2 categories with the rest of the categories blank on the other), multiple blank calaveras for students to use to create their calavera in the game plus so much more!
2 assessments - 1 for elements of art and 1 for principles of design are also included with a calavera so students can create a calavera using the elements or principles then describe their work for your assessment.
The game is perfect to leave as a sub lesson for grades 2-5 (or middle school). Laminate blank game boards and calaveras and let students design their own game using dry erase markers, then play the game they created, or simply print out paper copies. It can be used as an activity for students who finish another project early since it is self-directed and can be played by 1 or multiple students.
Multiple variations and suggestions are included. National Core Arts Standards and TEKS (for those teachers in Texas) are included for grades 2-5.
