A fun way to practice and keep up the skills of multiplication and division. These game sheets can be laminated to use over and over again. Or you can print a new one for each new game. The game boards are perfect for fast finishers, math centers, or a fun multiplication and division review.

What's Included:

• 3 pages of Multiplication Golf

Multiplication Golf: Students will play with a partner or alone. Each game board is played with different dice. Some are played with two 6 sided dice and others use 10 or 12 sided dice. They roll the dice to reach their goal (or par.) Each time they roll the dice they make a tally mark. Once they reached their goal they can move onto the next hole. When playing with a partner, they try and get the lowest tally marks.

Division Golf: This is also a fun game, but practices division. Students will roll dice and use addition and subtraction based on their game board to find the factor to reach the goal. Each game board is different.

J'utilise ces 27 cartes "J'ai... Qui a ?" une fois que mes élèves sont familiarisés avec les nombres décimaux et sont à l'aise avec les dixièmes, les centièmes et leur valeur de position avec les nombres décimaux.

Si vous n'êtes pas familier, les jeux de cartes "J'ai... Qui a?" sont des activités en grand groupe qui renforcent leur capacité à lire et à dire ce qu'il y a sur les cartes. C'est une excellente activité de révision avant l'évaluation et je l'utilise actuellement avec mes élèves de 5e et 6e année ; mais il pourrait facilement être utilisé en 7e année comme échauffement ou rappel.

Dans ce document de 7 pages, vous trouverez :

• Explication du jeu et comment démarrer avec des exemples.
• 27 cartes pré-créées (9 cartes par feuille) comportant des nombres décimaux représentés dans des grilles en dixièmes et centièmes (jusqu'à 1) y compris les cartes "début" et "fin". This product is a digital puzzle that requires students to complete 50 basic multiplication fact fluency problems. The link to the digital puzzle is on a clickable PDF that you would download once purchased. Students will put the answers in the answer box. This activity is no prep and is self checking. If the student puts the correct answer in, the answer box will turn green and a piece of the digital puzzle will appear in the green box to the right. In addition to this, an emoji pops up next to the correct answer. If the student puts in the wrong answer, the answer box will turn red and no puzzle piece will appear. After reading “Making Number Talks Matter” by Cathy Humphreys and Ruth Parker, I was inspired to build on their discussions of number sense.

**** I strongly recommend the book!

The goal of these activities is to ultimately get students thinking about numbers in more ways than one. When we ask them to find the amount without using pencil and paper, we ask them to find and create patterns. When I say “without counting” I mean that look they get—where they close one eye and squint and point to the numbers as they compute from their seats. Students will start to realize symmetry, groupings, and patterns.

These pages are intended for use with a projector but could be adjusted for small group instruction. The first page is intended for the initial display. Have students mentally solve the problem silently and independently. One students have an answer they can give a signal to show they have a number in mind—how you choose the signal is up to you but a simple thumbs up in front of their chest (so as not to distract or discourage their classmates) would suffice. The second page puts the same problem in the corner but leaves room for notes. Here is where you put student responses in any organized fashion you prefer—the important part here is to make sure you are recording ONLY the answers (keep your poker face!). Once you have student responses, ask students to defend their reasoning or find errors in words while you scribe their thinking on the board. This is a great opportunity for students to see that there is more than one way to approach a problem and come out with an accurate answer. As you progress, it is easy to transfer their thinking into more generalized “rules” in math.
