I have created this number line from 1 to 100 and have left the ZERO for you to determine on your own at the end of the file. *Please add your own 'accent aigu' before laminating and the students will never know!

This one-week French reading passage comprehension program will have your students reading in French every day of the week. These reading passages following the theme "Quand il fait très beau le samedi..." include five separate reading activities for Monday through Friday with three comprehension questions each. These activities are perfect for core French or immersion programs.

These reading worksheets are a great way to practice themed vocabulary, see sight words in action, and to improve overall comprehension.

2 French Children's Story Videos (Petit Poulet and L'Oiseau et la baleine) from The French Experiment are linked.

For your beginner Core French class, I recommend having students watch one of the videos in French first with no subtitles. Have them try to answer as many questions as possible from the accompanying worksheet. You might want to play the video at .75x speed if you teach elementary students.

Next, play the video once more, this time with subtitles. Students will be able to fill in the blanks they missed the first time around.

The last question for each of the stories allow students to think critically about the lesson each story teaches.

The worksheets are in English. The videos are in French.

I found this allows students to think about what they are watching more carefully, learning more French words along the way.

An answer key is not included, but the questions are very simple and you will be able to answer them easily after watching the video. I wrote the answers while watching the videos along with the students.

Science of Reading Assessment Tool Tracking Sheet

I created a French SOR Assessment tool to cover all the sounds for students K to 3 in the French Immersion setting (Grade 4-6 Core French) for easy assessment and evaluation. Once I got started on my own testing, I realized I could use a quick look tracking sheet.

I learned how to make the boxes editable and hope it works out for you. (I did ask a few colleagues to try it out first). I am offering it FREE for now.

How to use this product:

1. Open the resource in your preferred program (Adobe, etc)
2. Fill in student names for your classroom(s)

This one-week French reading passage comprehension program will have your students reading in French every day of the week. These reading passages following the theme "Pour construire une cabane dans les arbres" include five separate reading activities for Monday through Friday with three comprehension questions each. These activities are perfect for core French or immersion programs.

These reading worksheets are a great way to practice themed vocabulary, see sight words in action, and to improve overall comprehension.
