5. A New Friend? The story doesn't end here! What happens next? Do you befriend the creature? Do you embark on an adventure together? Leave the ending open for students to use their imaginations and create a unique conclusion.

As the winter days wind down and the spring weather approaches, many come out of hibernation. The spring season is often a time for children to play outside, participate in outdoor sports, and just enjoy the feeling of being outside in the fresh air. However, during this warm and bright season, it can also be a time of anxiety for children. Children in the upper elementary and middle school grades typically take standardized testing, which is mandated by the state. Need a fun way to introduce Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to upper elementary or middle school students? This great lesson incorporates Spring themed art as students learn the basics of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. First, they'll create a quick pixel art from a given example and then they'll create their own! These are also fun lessons to use if you just need something for a one day lesson.

This lesson is great for distance learning/remote learning. You can upload it to your school's learning management system (Google Classroom, Edmodo, Canvas, etc.) or share with students via Google Drive.

Writing a story about a pet Peep is a project for your students to show their creativity. This product includes information to share with your students about what a story is, what is shared in a story, who the audience can be, what is the author's purpose for writing a story, and how the story can be published. This product includes two story ideas, an example of one pet Peep story is outlined on a brainstorming template, and a final draft of the pet Peep story is included in this product. Templates are included after the example along with a rough draft/final draft template and reminder checklist so students remember to go back and check their work once it is completed.
