Peer pressure is real and all too common! Teens constantly experience all kinds of peer pressure (positive and negative) both in and out of school. Peer pressure can ultimately affect teens' decision-making, behaviors, emotions, and self-esteem. It's often hard to navigate difficult situations when dealing with negative peer pressure and hard to take risks when experiencing positive peer pressure.

How can we teach our kids about compassion?
Compassion is a quality that children can learn over time and through practice. We developed three lesson plans so your young yogis can foster love and compassion in three ways:

Coupon Binder -Teach your students or children the power of saving money
By Regina Frazier
Save lots of money while shopping using coupons. This colorful, cheerful binder organizes your coupons and makes it easier for you to find just the right coupon you are looking for while out shopping. Teach your students or children in your household the value of saving money by saving coupons. Create your own coupon binder by using baseball card holders that you can find at many dollar stores or office supply stores. You can either use a two inch or three inch binder to set it up and place all your dividers in. There are two coupon sorting sheets available. Rather than flipping through the pages in your binder to insert coupons which can take a lot of time, you can use the coupon sorting mats. Once the coupons are all sorted, you can then place them in your binder. Children of all ages can help with sorting the coupons. Many kids can also help out with gathering coupons and cutting them out. Have your students write about ways they can help their family save money. There are a couple of writing prompts that you could use to have your students share ways that they can help their families save money. This does not necessarily mean just using coupons. It could mean saving money by turning off the lights when not in use, not taking long showers, or turning in cans for redemption. Some kids might write about a job they do such as a paper route, mowing the grass or shoveling snow. Some students might choose to discuss buying items on sale at the store and not demanding expensive name brand items."Older students can work on the total amount of savings from using coupons. They can also work on figuring out percentages to show how much money is saved during each shopping trip and totals for each month. If you are interested in this product please download to see a few more pictures of what you will get. This binder includes the following: coupon binder cover front page coupon binder back page coupon binder spine 2inch coupon binder spine 3 inch full page dividers include the following fruits and vegetables dairy frozen foods canned goods meats boxed foods beverages snacks personal care pet care office supplies household restaurants department stores miscellaneous two pages of sorting mats for coupons Monthly Savings Chart two pages of a Writing prompt on ways kids can help their family save money. Therapeutic Healing Doll Making - Cathartic Intervention Teenagers
By All Therapy Resources
This cathartic intervention has been designed to support teenagers and adults to create their own “Therapeutic Doll” or “Healing Doll” which helps provide insight and a connection to their core sense of self. Individuals are then asked to reflect on the process by examining the questions provided.
Therapeutic doll making is a sensorimotor therapeutic approach which helps support individuals who have experienced trauma such as sexual abuse, physical assault, domestic violence as well as explore interpersonal relationships.
This resource includes a list of questions for the individual to reflect on post activity as well as a diary entry page for them to record their thoughts.
MATERIALS NEEDED
Each student will require one blank calico doll. These can be purchased at craft stores. Additionally, there should be a wide range of craft materials to ensure that the students have a range of options to use when creating their therapeutic doll.
Individuals may also even want to bring in some personal items that they want to use to decorate their doll. Should you not be able to obtain blank calico dolls then a one page body outline is included in this resource so that students can decorate these instead. This is not ideal and not the intended purpose of this intervention and should be used as a last resort only.
