There is ONE Anticipation Guide that comes in two different variations:

▶️ Variation #1:

⭐ Part 1: The first section of the Anticipation Guide features a list of statements alongside columns labeled "AGREE" and "DISAGREE." Students are tasked with reading each statement and marking either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE" based on their perspective.

⭐ Part 2: The second section of the Anticipation Guide prompts students to choose a statement from the list above and delve into its significance to them. They may reflect on how the statement connects to their own lives, share a personal experience related to it, or elaborate on their thoughts concerning its importance in greater detail.

▶️ Variation #2: This Anticipation Guide worksheet format includes a list of statements accompanied by columns for "AGREE," "DISAGREE," and "COMMENTS." Students are instructed to read each statement and mark either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE." They are then encouraged to elaborate on their thoughts or ideas regarding each statement in the designated "COMMENTS" column.

SELF-ASSESSMENT

This resource includes a single Impulse | Self-Control Self-Assessment. Students will use the impulse control | self-control - related statements to better understand their impulse control and guide them toward making thoughtful, intentional decisions. They will score the statements using the following scale: 2 for “Regularly,” 1 for “Occasionally,” and 0 for “Never.” They will use this assessment as a tool to reflect on their ability to manage impulses, identify areas for growth, and develop strategies to improve self-control in various aspects of their lives.

This assessment also serves as a valuable tool for initiating conversations about the importance of stopping to think before responding, considering the consequences of impulsive actions, and developing strategies to make more thoughtful and intentional choices.

I honestly can't tell you how many students have barged into my office super anxious and full of regret over decisions surrounding their cell phones. This resource allows you to start having open and honest conversations regarding cell phone safety. Images of cell phones with relatable messages for students to relate to. They'll get to read the message and decide if it's safe or not. Students will also get to brainstorm the positives and negatives of owning a cell, and brainstorm rules they feel they should follow in order to be safe and responsible online. Save lots of money while shopping using coupons. This colorful, cheerful binder organizes your coupons and makes it easier for you to find just the right coupon you are looking for while out shopping. Teach your students or children in your household the value of saving money by saving coupons. Create your own coupon binder by using baseball card holders that you can find at many dollar stores or office supply stores. You can either use a two inch or three inch binder to set it up and place all your dividers in. There are two coupon sorting sheets available. Rather than flipping through the pages in your binder to insert coupons which can take a lot of time, you can use the coupon sorting mats. Once the coupons are all sorted, you can then place them in your binder. Children of all ages can help with sorting the coupons. Many kids can also help out with gathering coupons and cutting them out. Have your students write about ways they can help their family save money. There are a couple of writing prompts that you could use to have your students share ways that they can help their families save money. This does not necessarily mean just using coupons. It could mean saving money by turning off the lights when not in use, not taking long showers, or turning in cans for redemption. Some kids might write about a job they do such as a paper route, mowing the grass or shoveling snow. Some students might choose to discuss buying items on sale at the store and not demanding expensive name brand items."Older students can work on the total amount of savings from using coupons. They can also work on figuring out percentages to show how much money is saved during each shopping trip and totals for each month. Do your students know how to properly make entries into a spreadsheet to keep track of their deposits and withdrawals? I have created an Excel and Google Sheets spreadsheet to make it easy for them. Each spreadsheet has 3 tabs - 1) showing them what I created, 2) a blank spreadsheets with headings, & 3) a black spreadsheet so they can follow the easy directions I have provided to create their own. What a great way for them to keep track of the money they receive, spend, and be able to balance their checking account!

This lesson gives students an introduction to the basics of applying for their first job. This is perfect for a technology, business or social skills class, or a class that focuses on careers. Students learn about the opportunities that may be available to them for their first job and then learn how to apply for the job. They learn about completing a job application, creating a resume in Microsoft Word, and the basics of interviewing with an employer. Students work with a team to create their own answers for commonly asked interview questions and to practice interviewing skills. Finally, students use the Internet to research actual jobs in their area that may be appropriate for them. This project was created for a grade 7-8 Career Exploration/Investigating Careers class, but could easily be adapted for high school students. This product focuses on first aid and when it is needed, accidents - how to prevent accidents and stay safe at home, in cars, on bikes, and when walking. Students will learn about sports safety, why it is important, what is needed to remain safe when playing different sports, what to do when an emergency call has to be made, what questions to be prepared to answer when making an emergency phone call, what could be in a first aid kit, what to do when someone experiences shock, symptoms of shock, and how to handle a situation when someone is in shock, taking a pulse - how to do it, how to figure out someone's pulse, and where a person's pulse can be taken, what to do when someone is unconscious, how someone could become unconscious, and what to do with someone's body if they are unconscious while you wait for help to arrive, putting on a bandage if you or someone else is injured and the steps to take, first aid procedures for small and deep cuts, scrapes, and nosebleeds, how to treat injuries, how to stop nosebleeds, what to do if you have an open blister, what to do if you have a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree burn and how they differ from each other, information on how to handle sprains, strains, and burns, and what to do if someone is choking and the Heimlich Maneuver needs to be done.

After each section, students will fill in the blanks when given a key with the missing vocabulary words, answer short answer questions, or fill in the blanks based on the previous page on each topic to review.
