(FR) MIDDLE SCHOOL CORE FRENCH - JOYEUX ANNIVERSAIRE
By French Made Fun!
This unit study is at the level of your middle schoolers - in Core French (FSL) - both for content and maturity. I was finding materials that matched their comprehension were babyish and they'd be disengaged and frustrated! My material is engaging, animated, not babyish but at their (beginner!) level.
These slides and activities will easily get you through roughly 5 or 6 Core French classes at the 4th - 8th grade age.
This 32 page document provides you with:
16 'teaching' slides:
These will prompt discussions with your students and teach them step-by-step how to make a birthday card (en Français). Students are prompted to answer the questions: "Quel âge as-tu?" "Quelle est la date de ton anniversaire?" and "En quelle saison est ton anniversaire?"
A message du matin is provided with prompts to find les "mots amis," les "mots familiers," and les "lettres fantômes!" I push this a step further with les 8 étapes a l'oral by then getting the students to say their own age, one another's age and then I assess their oral language as they work in partners.
Within the slides, you can edit to add your students' information for their birthdays and the seasons in which they have birthdays!
An oral activity for your students to guess YOUR birthday ("L'anniversaire de mon enseignant") (I usually give a prize to the winner and then everyone wants in on this fun activity)
12 pages of printable activities that follow this same theme, like:
Linking images to words,
Writing the numbers for written numbers (and vice versa),
Drawing candles on cakes,
Counting en Français,
Expressions like: "J'ai ___ ans," and "Mon anniversaire est ____," and "Son anniversaire est ____," etc.
A birthday calendar for the students,
A kinesthetic fill-in-the-blank activity,
A cut-out/decorate cube for asking questions to a partner.
A Google Doodle activity,
A family age/birthday diagram.
Etc.
Cover page + Credits + Video Links & Lyrics.

Art Labels: displaying artworks.
By Art Shack by JB
These creative Art name tags were designed to be printed, cut apart, and attached to your student’s amazing artworks. These name tags have a line designated for the student’s name, type of artwork it is, and grade level of the student. Using these name tags makes it easy for handing back artworks to students after the art is displayed in an art gallery, art museum, and/or art show. As an elementary art teacher, I enjoy different color name tags for different grade levels, so I have created 6 unique color palettes per grades K-5th grade. I hope this helps! Enjoy.

Mystery Word! - Student Printables
By Jason Litt
Working on the lines of the treble clef staff? Here's a fun way to have your students use their knowledge and solve a puzzle with Mystery Word! The Mystery Word package includes 50 challenging words and/or phrases that are spelled using the musical letters (A,B,C,D,E,F, and G) of the treble clef staff. Blank letter boxes are below the note on the staff for the students to fill in. Some words and phrases are easy, but some get pretty difficult! Included are three files: The teacher version, a PDF file with 50 pages in PDF format to use as a class activity. The student version, a PDF file you can print out with 25 pages, 2 puzzles to each page you can individual give to students. (If printed out and copied back-to-back, it only runs 13 pages per booklet) The answer key (just in case a substitute teacher needs it) ;) You can use this as a warmup to your lesson, or a lesson in itself -- it makes a great substitute teacher plan as well! It gets kids to critically think about the lines of the staff to fill in the blanks... my kids love it as it's fun and challenging. Would love to hear feedback how it's working in your classrooms. Any questions, you know where to find me. Have fun!
