Fun way for students to practice writing conversations:

This Valentine's Day themed activity is a fun way to practice the writing conventions involved with writing conversations. Students will use the inspiration of Conversation Hearts to writes a conversation. They will practice writing with quotation marks and the conventions involved.

Students can also have the opportunity to practice oral presentations by using Conversation Hearts to create conversation. They will work with a partner to design and present a conversation.

Students will also be able to write a story using the Conversation Hearts as a starting point and using specific parameters.

**Bonus Activity** Drama class line reading activity.

Valentine's Day Brainstorm activity is similar to the game Scattergories. Students will the first letters in the word heart and loved to find words that fall into the categories of animal, candy/treat, a thing in your classroom, verb, noun, and adjective. This is a perfect activity in February as it is Valentine's themed. Students will have to brainstorm ideas that begin with a certain letter. This unit includes several short activities for Valentine’s Day (or week) that are perfect to combine to fill a full class period, or use for a portion of a class period during the week leading up to the holiday. Each of the activities can be done individually or with a partner or team, depending on the teacher/student preference. Teacher resources for other related activities include writing prompts that are perfect to use as warm-ups at the beginning of class or to use for a longer writing assignment.

In this product, students will learn the English words and signs for the 42 different Valentine's Day vocabulary words presented in this product.

Students will learn the different Valentine's Day vocabulary words and each word's sign. Students will also learn the difference between the Valentine's Day vocabulary words and will see how they are used in sentences. Pictures for each of the Valentine's Day vocabulary words are provided to help students understand the different kinds of Valentine's Day vocabulary words presented.

In the first section of this product, students will be provided with 42 Valentine's Day vocabulary words, a dictionary that includes a sentence using each Valentine's Day vocabulary word, a sign for each Valentine's Day vocabulary word, and a picture that helps to explain each sentence given for each Valentine's Day vocabulary word.

In the second section of this product, students will be provided with a sentence, the sign, and a picture that explains each sentence provided. Students will write each Valentine's Day vocabulary word on the line provided. Students will be required to choose 11 Valentine's Day vocabulary words and make up a sentence using each one.

In the third section of this product, students will use the Valentine's Day vocabulary word provided along with the sign and a picture that can help support a sentence. Students will make up a sentence for each Valentine's Day vocabulary word.

Students will enjoy this digital breakout website that has them solve four logic puzzles to find all the necessary keys to unlock the safe and get Cupid's arrows back. Students will use the Google Form that's embedded in the website to fill in their guesses for the passwords. They will get an immediate response on whether their guess was correct, (which will allow them to go to the next rooms submission), or tell them to try again.
