In this product, students will review New Year's Eve/Day vocabular. There are two templates in this product. The first template allows students to write their answer and draw a picture or cut and paste a picture card provided on each page of the booklet. The second template allows students to cut and paste picture a picture card provided as their answer.

On each template, students will answer 10 questions about resolutions/goals they have for the coming year. On the page after each question, will be a section of pictures that students can choose from to answer each question.

This product can also be laminated. The picture cards can be cut out and Velcro can be applied to each one so it can be used again. Students can use a dry erase marker to write responses if product is laminated.

There is no wonder why escape rooms are so popular; they are highly engaging and encourage people to work together and think creatively in order to solve different puzzles... all while trying to beat the clock! This meticulously-crafted resource features all of the materials you need to conduct a full-length Chinese New Year-themed Escape Room. Planning an escape room may seem like quite the daunting task, but this product provides everything from the basics and set-up instructions to signs and answer keys so that yours runs smoothly from start to finish. The activity involves movement, energy, creative thinking and most of all, collaboration. All tasks are Language Arts skills-based so that with this intrinsically engaging lesson, learning is not sacrificed. How does it work?

• Chinese New Year Fun Facts: In the first task, students will read 8 fun facts about how people celebrate the Lunar New Year. In each passage, students must identify the incorrect homophone and correct it.
• The Amazing Zodiac Race: In the second task, students must locate the incorrectly spelled word and correct it.
• Chinese New Year Stats: In the third task, using context cues, students must fill in the blanks in 8 statistics about the Lunar New Year.
• The Tyger: In the fourth task, students will perform a close reading of The Tyger by William Blake. Letters of the multiple choice question answers following the poem reveal their fourth code.
• Word Maze: In the final task, students must complete a word maze. Once students complete the task and bring their complete answer sheets to you, they may escape the room and start the Chinese New Year off on a strong note!

This activity is designed to work on laptops, tablets, or smartphones.

Your students will “visit” four different cities: New York, Paris, Rome and Tokyo.

In order to travel from one city to another, they will have to solve expressions using Order of Operations.

There are 40 expressions, with parentheses and no exponent.

After completing each game, they will find a link that will take them to another location.

A printable version of the questions is also included.
