Lewis’s Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. In this product, there are completed lesson plans (and a blank one if you need to write your own), a slideshow that includes everything for each chapter (introduction, review of content, copy of the doodle notes, copy of the end of chapter activity/discussion outline, and the closure question), the Doodle Notes outline for each chapter, and the End of Chapter/Discussion activities. This novel study is for 4th-grade to 7th-grade students.\n\n\n\n**Lesson Plans**\n\nEach chapter comes with a completed lesson plan! The lesson plans include an I can statement (Chapter Goal), the materials needed, what students will be doing as a preview to the chapter, what they will be doing during the read, the activity after the chapter, some differentiation ideas, the assessment, and a closure. There is a spot for standards, but I did not include one because of different state standards. They are also all editable! It was made using Google Slides, so that will be the best place to edit the lesson plans.\n\n\n\n**Doodle Notes/End of Chapter Activities & Discussions**\n\nEach chapter comes with doodle notes and an End of Chapter/Discussion Activity. Doodle notes are notes students take that involve more drawing than writing. Students will have a prompt to help them know what to focus on while listening/reading the chapter and what to take notes on. The activities focus on multiple different skills, Central Idea, Supporting Details, Problem/Solution, Cause/Effect, Summaries, Story Elements, Inferences, and more. There are also 8 discussion activities where students will need to work in groups discussing a prompt about the chapter.\n\n\n\n**Slideshow**\n\nTo go along with the book, there is a Slideshow that includes an outline for each chapter! It includes what is written in the lesson plans. So there are introduction slides for each chapter, a copy of the doodle notes and chapter activities, and a slide for the closure. The slides are also editable! So if you would like to add/adapt anything to fit your class/lesson better, just open the file in Canva or PowerPoint. I also made a Google Slides File that is easier to edit on Google Slides, however, you cannot edit as much. \\*\\*\\*There is a slide that you will need to edit. It is the “Discussion Expectations” slide. This is because each class will have different expectations for discussions.\\*\\*\n\n\n\nThank you for your support! Students will need to walk around the room reading the task cards. Each task card has a code word on the bottom which is the answer to the question/fill in the blank. The answer will NOT be found on that same task card. For example, the answer to task card #1 is found by reading the passage on task card #8. Students MUST record which task card they found the answer on in their answer sheet under the “FOUND CARDS #” column. That column will be used at the end for the 4 digit lock code. They will follow the clues to find the correct 4 digit code.\n\nThis activity would be a great review before assessments, as a center activity, a group activity, etc. Students will be engaged with the learning while having a fun time trying to solve all of the clues!\n",descriptionPlain:"This is a scavenger hunt using task cards that is based on the key figures that helped to abolish slavery and are studied in the 4th grade curriculum. Are you looking for an introduction lesson for teaching main idea? Are your students struggling with main idea and supporting details or just Listening skills in general? The secret to getting the main idea is to teach the student to identify the topic, and then teach the student to identify what the purpose of the narrative was (Entertain/ Inform/ Persuade/ Instruct).
This is A 36 card/slide Lesson with 36 multiple choice prompts and 36 open-ended prompts which allow you to determine if the student can grasp the main idea. Narratives get progressively more complex as the student moves through the cards. A 4 page PDF assessment in included.
The cards work well with any students grades 6-10 or best when used with students who have mild cognitive delays yet basic language skills. An independent lesson will take about 30 minutes however if you are using it as a teaching tool during instruction the lesson can easily fill 60 minutes with breaks in between for group discussion.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe - Novel Study
By A Teachers Sidekick
This is a novel study of C.S. This novel study is for 4th-grade to 7th-grade students.
Lesson Plans
Each chapter comes with a completed lesson plan! It was made using Google Slides, so that will be the best place to edit the lesson plans.
Doodle Notes/End of Chapter Activities & Discussions
Each chapter comes with doodle notes and an End of Chapter/Discussion Activity. There are also 8 discussion activities where students will need to work in groups discussing a prompt about the chapter.
Slideshow
To go along with the book, there is a Slideshow that includes an outline for each chapter! ***There is a slide that you will need to edit. It is the “Discussion Expectations” slide. This is because each class will have different expectations for discussions.**
Thank you for your support! I hope you enjoy it.
Please rate and review.

Use this Reading Response Assignment and Battle Royale style activity to teach about Bushcraft and Primitive Survival Techniques while reinforcing simple geographical knowledge about world geography and the basic biomes of the world. Any fan of fortnite or other battle royale style video games will love this assignment! But even the students who don't play fortnite will enjoy making their battle royale survival plan.
I normally use this assignment during my Ancient History unit on early humans as a way to help students understand the hardship of surviving without modern technology. I've also used it directly after my unit on the Fall of Rome when we discuss the collapse of civilization before diving into Feudalism in Europe.
Really this assignment is a plug and play that you can use in many different class periods. Thinking tactically about survival never goes out of style, and students are always engaged during this assignment. I've also used it as a last minute sub plan and have never gotten a bad note!

WHAT'S INCLUDED...
12 Printable Worksheets
Each set includes...
► Task 1: Read and Highlight a Figurative Language Passage
► Task 2: Write a Similar Figurative Language Passage Using a Checklist
► Task 3: Figurative Language Analysis Graphic Organizer
► Answer Keys
The Four Figurative Language Short Passage sets have 3 close reading and writing worksheets each - for a total of 12 high-quality worksheets! *Answer Keys Included! Figurative Language Short Passage Sets are a no-prep, printable close reading activity that's perfect for middle school and high school. Each passage has between 206-226 words and is filled with between 14-19 examples of figurative language, such as hyperbole, metaphor, simile, and personification. I’ve found that although my students can tell me the definition of these terms, simile is the only one they can truly pick out in a text. As a result, their writing is filled with overused similes that need work! These figurative language passage sets are rigorous, use higher-level words and phrases, and in addition to merely identifying the different types, students will be asked to discuss the impact it has on the reader, as they’re asked to do on standardized testing.
***CHECK OUT THE PREVIEWS FOR MORE DETAILS!***
Simply print and go! There is truly no preparation needed, which is why this set is perfect to leave for sub plans, bell ringers, homework, test prep, review or assessment!
*As an optional review activity, use my No-prep Four Corners Figurative Language Activity resource for a fun whole-group review game, then simply leave these sub plans whenever you are going to be out!
Activity:
Students can complete all three worksheets in each set as part of a sub packet, but if you don't see them for a full block then assign only one page each day you're out (you'll get even more bang for your buck!) If you teach allusion, alliteration, idiom, or onomatopoeia, you can ask students to include those in Task 2 where they will be asked to continue the passage using a similar writing style. I have left some blanks on the checklist for this very purpose.

Figures That Helped Abolish Slavery Scavenger Hunt (No Prep!)
By Miss Yous Clues and Resources
This is a scavenger hunt using task cards that is based on the key figures that helped to abolish slavery and are studied in the 4th grade curriculum. Students will read about Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Samuel Cornish, William Lloyd Garrison, Sojourner Truth, John Brown, Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony and Harriet Beecher Stowe. This activity will have students reading about how each individual aided the abolition movement. Check out the preview to see what each task card entails. They will follow the clues to find the correct 4 digit code.
This activity would be a great review before assessments, as a center activity, a group activity, etc. Students will be engaged with the learning while having a fun time trying to solve all of the clues!
Guided Reading Lesson Plan & Activities for Grade 6
By Bright Classroom Ideas Marketplace
In their first year of middle school, 6th graders embark on a new phase in their education, facing fresh challenges and changes. In many ways, 6th grade marks an important transition for students, as they apply the skills they have learned before to engage in more complex and self-guided learning in deeper and more demanding ways.
While collaboration continues to be an important element of the curriculum, students often need to produce more detailed independent assignments, especially in writing. This requires improved independence and organizational skills, and it will probably necessitate some adjustment and practice at the beginning of the school year.
The main goal of the 6th grade reading curriculum is to have students interact with increasingly difficult texts over the year, preparing them for high school, advanced studies, and future professions. Students examine a variety of texts and different genres, including fiction, drama, poetry, and non-fiction.
This ebook offers a detailed lesson plan for guided reading along with activities tailored for your sixth-grade classes. Suggested replies are also provided.
