The bundle focuses on some of the most influential U.S. Presidents throughout American history. Firstly, there are sixteen close reading activities, or informational texts, about:

These activities require NO PREP and have a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity, crossword puzzle and wordsearch for those fast finishers. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document.

Secondly, there are eight biography writing units about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, John F. Kennedy and Thomas Jefferson. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Then, there is a discussion based writing unit discussing who is the most influential U.S. president of all time. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

After, there is a great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to all of the U.S Presidents throughout history. Great for class work, distance learning and home schooling. There are 46 posters or cards of all of the U.S Presidents, starting with the very first, George Washington, up until present day president, Joe Biden.

Finally, there is a 'top trumps' style supercards card game that enables your students to learn about all of the American presidents. Your class will love the trading cards which they can play with in an interactive and engaging way!

President's Day in the United States is a time for us to think about the leaders of our country in the past. Students will read the article titled "Remembering Leaders and Legacies" which honors four important historical presidents. After reading, students will construct a flipbook and answer a reading comprehension question about each president. All answers can be found in the article! Students will answer the following questions: name of president, when the president was born, when the president died, how many years in office the president was, how many terms the president served, who the vice president was at the time the president was in office, two challenges the president faced, two accomplishments the president achieved, and three interesting facts that were learned. There is a section for students to print out a picture or draw a picture of the president. At the end of the template, there is a section for resources as well.

There is an example provided at the end of the template as well that includes information about George Washington.

The students finished product could be made into a vertical poster (as seen in the thumbnail photo) and glue the black sections to the back of each page or cut the templates out and create a booklet.

The first lesson is interactive and involves students cutting out facts, and then sorting these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the students need to use these facts to write four paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson children need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions on a prompt sheet before writing up their conclusion. In the final lesson students need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work on to a neat copy on the template provided.

A Franklin Roosevelt Escape Room activity. Ideal for fifth grade or sixth grade, the activity is perfect for group work, starting a new topic on World War 2, President's Day, team-building activities or for a fun, engaging and interactive lesson. In Task 1 students will read an informational text about Franklin Roosevelt and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.

In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.

In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards about World War II before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.

In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.

Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.

In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.

In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.

In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.

Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.
