Use this Reading Response Assignment and Battle Royale style activity to teach about Bushcraft and Primitive Survival Techniques while reinforcing simple geographical knowledge about world geography and the basic biomes of the world. Any fan of fortnite or other battle royale style video games will love this assignment! But even the students who don't play fortnite will enjoy making their battle royale survival plan.

I normally use this assignment during my Ancient History unit on early humans as a way to help students understand the hardship of surviving without modern technology. I've also used it directly after my unit on the Fall of Rome when we discuss the collapse of civilization before diving into Feudalism in Europe.

Really this assignment is a plug and play that you can use in many different class periods. Thinking tactically about survival never goes out of style, and students are always engaged during this assignment. I've also used it as a last minute sub plan and have never gotten a bad note!

Students can construct a diorama by cutting, coloring, painting, and gluing different components inside the box. This allows them to create models that convey specific scenarios like historical events or animals in their habitats. They can enhance their scenes by incorporating natural elements like grass, sand, or twigs.

While these dioramas don't come with strict assembly guidelines, students should familiarize themselves with the subject first and then creatively use provided materials to design their unique diorama. This hands-on activity encourages learning in a fun and engaging way.

SIMPLY PRINT - Print the pieces on sturdy cardstock and allow students to explore as an extension of their lesson plans.

Where magma volcanoes form, how pieces of the Earth's surface move slowly, what is the lithosphere and where it is located, where tectonic plates are located in the structure of the Earth, tectonic plates and the three boundaries and how they are different from one another - divergent, transform, and convergent boundaries, students will also learn about Mount St. Helens eruption on May 18th, 1980, students will also learn safety tips and how to prepare for a volcanic eruption, students will analyze two charts: how volcanoes are measured using the Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI) and some volcanic eruptions in the 21st century, and students will choose a volcano to research and will answer questions after conducting research about a volcano in the packet provided at the end of the product.

Throughout the product, students will answer comprehension questions, true/false questions, multiple choice questions, will label diagrams to ensure comprehension as they are learning about volcanoes.

This is a quick study on Queen Elizabeth II and how she governed during her 70-year reign. Having inherited the Crown at an early age, she was not ready to be Queen, but was thrust into the position overnight. This lesson was written the day after her passing in September 8, 2022, and is written in past-tense.

Through this study students will:

o Become familiar with the duties of Queen Elizabeth as the Monarch and head of state.

o Understand the duties of the three branches of the government.

o Understand the difference between an absolute and constitutional monarchy.

o Become familiar with Queen Elizabeth and what her life was like as Queen.

MATERIALS:

o Comparison Chart

o Would You Want to Be Queen or King in a Constitutional Monarch? (Exit Card)

o Access to the Internet for the comparison chart as they will need to research an absolute monarchy. (or) You may print off an article from the Internet to for each group to use. Here is one that compares the two.
