Together, with the teacher, students will read the book “Beautiful Oops” by Barney Saltzberg. Using this book as inspiration, students will take an “oopsie mark” and create their own original work of art.

This creative Underwater Perspective Walkway: Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this PDF file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen.

For this assignment, I asked students to make an Underwater Perspective Walkway, celebrating the joy of 1-point perspective and sea life. Students brainstorm their ideas in a sketchbook and learn how to draw in 1-point perspective (step-by-step demonstrations). Measurements w/ rulers and yardsticks are learned. A compass is used for the curves. Students take the sketch to Final Copy paper and outline important features. Materials will be mainly colored pencils and transparent watercolor blue wash paints. This is a 3-5-day assignment.

Pumpkin Drawing is the first art lesson I teach each year so the finished drawings will be ready for parents to view during back to school night and will be ready for Halloween too. It is also a simple lesson to teach students basic coloring skills.

Materials include two lesson plans (one for oil pastel/crayon drawing and one for Chinese traditional painting), teacher step by step samples, teacher finished samples, and student finished samples.

Pablo Picasso was among the most impactful artists of the 20th century. He is recognized for co-founding the Cubist movement, creating constructed sculpture, co-inventing collage, and for the diverse range of styles that he contributed to and examined.

For approximately 80 of his 91 years, Picasso dedicated himself to creating art that played a crucial role in the overall progress of modern art during the 20th century, especially through the creation of Cubism (alongside artist Georges Braque) around 1907.

Picasso is often regarded as THE genius of the twentieth century. Possibly more than any other artist, he transformed the course of art, initiating the modernist movement. He was an innovator of Cubism, subsequently of collage art, and eventually neo-classicism.

This lesson plan centers around the artwork of Pablo Picasso. Numerous activities are provided, arranged in two worksheets. Their answers are provided in the end. Six of his most famous works are also included.

As time moves on, many great Americans who have shaped the arts, sciences, sports, and history of our nation and culture get lost in time. 4. Class Collaboration: Brainstorm a list of idioms students know, compiling them into a classroom chart.

Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Lily Pond Scene, Monet-inspired was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this PDF file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. It is best to use 18 x 24 white paper for this unit, since this will be a rather large artwork. This unit should last 4-(50 minute) class periods. I allowed the use of crayon for everything except the lily pond. I allowed the use of watercolor paint for the lily pond. This creative Pizza Collage: Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this PDF file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen. For this assignment, I asked students to make a Pizza Collage of their favorite type of pizza. Lots of students love just a Cheese Pizza, but when they see all the types of delicious paper toppings they can add to their special pizza, they can’t wait. Students learned tracing, cutting, gluing, and placing (overlapping) skills during this 2-Day Art Unit. Students shared who they were making the special pizza for and their favorite pizza toppings. I love hanging these out on the gallery ceilings. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy!
