These sentence starters are perfect either for French immersion or for core French at any level or age. Use these with primary or secondary students.

25 cards to print, cut out, and laminate: Use these no-prep speaking prompts year after year. This is a great way to enhance your program by practicing oral production during the month of October.

25 half page worksheets to use as writing prompts: These are meant for primary students as they include space to draw a picture and there is only space for a short paragraph. These are perfect for literacy centers.

25 full page worksheets to use as writing prompts: These are meant for middle school or high school students. These prompts are a helpful way to "get started" when looking for something to write about.

25 sentence stem strips: Print and cut out the strips, punch holes in the spaces provided, and hook them together with a ring. Students can read the sentence stems and complete the sentences by using words they have learned to form the remainder of their sentences. Provide students with a set of stem strips that they can work on at their own pace. Unlike the writing prompts, these strips are meant to elicit short answers.

Writing a book report based on a book that students enjoyed reading is a fun and interesting project for your students. Students can take this time to go back and review their favorite parts of the book, favorite characters, the setting, and the plot of the story. This unit was designed (and taught) for a grade 5-7 mixed ability group.

If you want to get your students to think about the world around them and understand that everyone in the world has the same rights, but not everyone actually gets those rights, this is the unit to do this. Using explanatory writing as the genre of writing, students learn about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, while learning how to write different explanatory writing formats.

This unit includes links to required media, a teach guide (with 21-day timeline) and a student book to get you started. The final assessment questions are also provided. Rubric/success criteria are to be developed with the class (I do not provide rubrics because of the differences in curriculum).

Noël - One week French reading program for Christmas

Theme: Quand je me réveille le matin de Noël...

This one-week French reading comprehension program is suitable for upper-beginner to intermediate level primary or secondary levels. This program will have your students reading every day of the week, and is perfect for core or French immersion. These reading activities are specifically meant to be used along with my my Christmas themed vocabulary and writing programs which use a lot of the same words. The reading activities in this program include five separate reading comprehension activities for Monday through Friday. These reading worksheets are a great way to practice new themed vocabulary, see sight words in action, and to improve overall comprehension. Each worksheet includes a paragraph that should be read three times, once for each of the three questions that follow. Students check off the circled numbers each time they read the text and then they answer the corresponding questions.

Students will be provided with a research project ideas list and a KWL chart in the beginning of the product. Students will then be provided with template cards that ask students to share why they chose the topic, what students want to learn about their topic before they begin researching, important facts they learned about their topic (with different color templates), what students learned about their topic that shocked them, what did students think about their topic before they researched it, and two sources templates are included (one to share 2 sources and another to share 3 sources). Students can color pictures or print out pictures in the given picture templates and can cut out the template cards that were filled in and glue on file folders or on a poster board to share.

The Pumpkin Patch Field Trip Unit is part of my Field Trip Unit Series. The series was created with homeschoolers in mind, but can be adapted to be used in a classroom as well. Field trips are a great way to supplement learning, but often homeschoolers don’t get any background information on the location of their field trip and want to enrich their experience by expanding the learning at home before and after the trip. These units help give information and fun activities before and after the field trip.

These units are available in PreK/Kinder, Elementary, and Middle & High School levels. All Pumpkin Patch Field Trip Units follow the same outline and the parent/teacher info sheet is the same for all three so that if you have children of several ages, you can seamlessly teach them together. Halloween Sentence Stems

Use these 25 Halloween sentence stems / starters to get your students speaking or use them as writing prompts. These sentence starters fun at any level or age. Use these with primary or middle school students. I've included four completely different ways to use this resource. See the preview for more details.

Includes:

25 cards to print, cut out, and laminate: Use these no-prep speaking prompts year after year. This is a great way to enhance your program by practicing oral production during the month of October.

25 half page worksheets to use as writing prompts: These are meant for primary students as they include space to draw a picture and there is only space for a short paragraph. These are perfect for literacy centers.

25 full page worksheets to use as writing prompts: These are meant for middle school students. These prompts are a helpful way to "get started" when looking for something to write about.

25 sentence stem strips: Print and cut out the strips, punch holes in the spaces provided, and hook them together with a ring. Students can read the sentence stems and complete the sentences by using words they have learned to form the remainder of their sentences. Provide students with a set of stem strips that they can work on at their own pace. Unlike the writing prompts, these strips are meant to elicit short answers.

Writing a magazine article review based on a magazine article that students enjoyed reading is a fun and interesting project for them. Students can take this time to go back and review their favorite parts of the magazine, interesting facts they learned, what the article was about, and why they chose to write about the article. This packet includes a brainstorming template and rough draft template for students to write a magazine article review based on a magazine article that they read. Students can also use the rough draft template for a final written draft or can type their final draft.
