This resource is a science driven, easy to use pack to use when investigating all things pumpkin! Pumpkinology is a great way to incorporate kindergarten science standards in a fun, fall themed way.

Cut off the top of a pumpkin and let them scoop out the insides to count seeds, estimate how many counting cubes tall is a pumpkin, how many paperclips will it take to fit around the pumpkin? Will the pumpkin sink or float? What is the life cycle of a pumpkin? Color or use tissue paper to produce a tear art version to create their very own pumpkin.

I use this resource in my classroom on October 31st as part of our fall party! We investigate all things pumpkin and the grand finale is when we carve a face on the pumpkin, add in baking soda, vinegar and green food coloring to make the pumpkin explode (outside of course)! This is a day your students will remember for years to come!

Use this activity to sequence the events in There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Turkey. Each event is pictured on a turkey feather that, when completed, creates an adorable turkey that sequences the story. Print on cardstock to make it more durable or mat it on a large piece of construction paper. Students will color and cut out the turkey feathers and body, glue them together, and have a great "craftivity" that tells what happens in this adorable book.

This 13-page project-based (PBL) unit features three assignments for students to explore cultural diversity through:

• "Mon projet de patrimoine familiale": Interviewing their own family members and creating a brochure or pamphlet summarizing their family's traditions.

• Included with this project is a lesson plan with suggestions, rubric, success criteria, a letter to parents (in both English and French) as well as the interview (in both English and French).

❖ Les relation familiales - Family relationships - Discussion ciblée - French themed conversation questions ❖

Part of our series of "discussions ciblées". List of 35 vocabulary words related to family relationships, including 20 discussion questions. The questions are suitable for upper level and AP French or for middle and high school French immersion. This resource is especially useful for your chapter on family relationships. The questions are thorough, though provoking, and will make for great discussions. I like to print the list of words on one side of a page and the questions on the other side so that students can easily refer to the new vocabulary during their conversations. If you make a two sided copy everything will fit on one page.

Also included is a set of speaking cards for students to use prior to using the discussion cards so that they can become familiar with the theme and many new words. The cards just need to be printed and cut out so that your students can use them in pairs or small groups. Each card says, "Décris le mot suivant en français et ton partenaire le devinera." The vocabulary word is written both in French and English since many of the words will be new. This exposure to the vocabulary will make the discussion that follows flow easier. Students will still have easy access to the list of words on the other side of the photocopied questions.

Don't want to print? That's ok! A PDF with just one card per page is included for easy projecting or for tablets.
