My students LOVE storyboards! They are a great resource for introducing basic story elements and summarizing, I use colorful file folders or large manila/construction paper. There are illustrations to color which are surrounded by dotted lines to make cutting easier. There are also interactive flaps for writing the beginning, middle and ending as well as places to write about the characters, setting and summary. This storyboard can be used as a companion activity for The Gingerbread Man.

Arthur's First Sleepover is a great book to read for students to learn about trying something new, facing their fears, and going to their first sleepover, etc. Students are presented with a variety of comprehension questions based on what happens in the book, Arthur's First Sleepover. Students can answer these questions as the book is read to them, as they read the book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished.

My students LOVE creating storyboards and they are a wonderful introduction to basic story elements and summarizing. I use colorful file folders or large manila/construction paper. There are illustrations to color and places to list the characters, setting and summary. There are also interactive flaps for writing the beginning, middle and ending. This project is about the birth of Baby Jesus and includes Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, the Wise Men, a shepherd and a sheep.
