Stress Management + Coping Skills SEL Bundle
By Erin Cusumano
These two lessons naturally go hand in hand!
Stress management explores identifying stress as a process that takes place in the brain and body, identifying when stress can be helpful (eustress), when stress becomes overwhelming (distress), and emphasizes the use of coping skills to mitigate the negative effects of stress.
Coping skills explore multiple options for positive copings skills and encourages students to identify one that works for them. The lesson looks at positive vs. negative coping skills, problem-focused vs. emotion-focused coping skills, and how coping skills work to affect thoughts, feelings and actions.
Together these lesson explain the processes behind stress and how coping skills counteract when stress becomes overwhelming.
This build includes 2 presentations ( 7 slides in one, 8 slides in another), a stress management worksheet (1 page), a coping skills worksheet (1 Page) that can accompany a no-prep activity, and guides for both lessons.

Resilience Activities Classroom Guidance Lesson
By A Plus Education
This resilience resource can help your students develop skills and strategies to adapt to difficult circumstances and maintain their emotional and mental well-being. It focuses on helping the students to build strengths to help them cope with difficulties and challenges in school and thrive in adversity.
Our students' life at school can be challenging and lead to disengagement and lack of concentration and focus.
Creating a positive environment for our students in school could help them build their resiliency to help them cope withand manage the difficulties they encounter. We believe building a positive environment will make our students feel supported, more engaged, more connected to their teachers and classmates, and achieve better academic results.
One of the strengths we want to develop and enhance is resilience.
**Resilience **is the ability to bounce back from difficulties and not let failure overcome and drain your resolve but find a way to rise again. By helping our students boost their resiliency, they experience more positive emotions than negative emotions, are less depressive, have greater resistance to stress, and it also boosts their immune system which leads to good health.
Our resilience lesson includes:
What is resilience and what is not resilience
Keeping positive
Goal-setting
Feelings activity
Problem Solving
Character Strengths

Activity on Anger Management - Managing Anger in Children - Anger Monster
By All Therapy Resources
This lesson and craft activity on anger management helps students personify and project their anger onto their own monster that they create with the therapeutic aim to reflect and gain insight. Supporting children to personify anger can help make it easier with managing anger in children.
This activity on anger management has been successful at supporting students who experience anger management issues to explore what makes them angry, as well as anger management strategies. This intervention asks students to create a representation of anger and give it a name. By externalizing anger though this activity on anger management, it becomes something that they can deal with and manage. It is no longer an abstract idea that children have no control over. It becomes manageable.
This activity on anger management helps to create a sense of personal awareness and insight into their own anger. The Angry Monster can also act as an outlet so that the Angry Monster can hold onto the anger, helping to compartmentalize the stress and anger so that the student doesn’t have to.
Further discussion ideas for integration might include exploration of the various emotional regulation and anger management themes and trends that arise during this intervention.
