I have a dream writing prompt is perfect for the month of January when we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. and his influence he made on the world. This writing prompts gives a little information on Dr. King Jr's dream for the world and then asks the students what dream they have that could make the world a better place. This opinion writing gives students the opportunity to learn a little about MLK and then brainstorm how they can make a difference in the world.
What's included in this is the writing prompt about MLK?
You can choose to have the students write a lengthy report or a simple essay. The 4 writing pages give students the option to write their own title or draw a picture along with their writing.

Do your students need a Question of The Day for February? Using a Question of The Day can lead to tremendous growth academically and socially. The Question of The Day Fun can be utilized during your Morning Meeting time along with your greeting and other activities.
There are Valentine’s Day questions, Black History Month questions, and kindness questions. All of the questions are on a Google Slide and can be used every morning during your Morning Meeting routine. All you have to do is bring up the Google Slide each morning and have the slide ready to go for that day. There are 20 EDITABLE and DIVERSE slides just for the month of February!
Students will create connections and develop deep discussions with the questions. Therefore, the skills they are learning during Morning Meeting will lead to connections within their reading texts. Students who practice those skills outside of reading will most likely utilize those same skills while reading.
Additionally, the February Question of The Day will create deep relationships between you and your students! If you have the other Morning Meeting Slides than you understand how powerful these questions can be!
This is also an excellent resource to use with your remote learners as well. You could assign one or more slides to their learning management system for morning meetings and writing or reading activities.

Make learning about Black History month interesting with this no-prep digital escape game. The game includes access to a website where your students will hunt for the keys to unlock a set of locks. Students will need to read the clues very carefully and watch videos, visit websites, and read texts to find the information they need to win the game. Very easy to use - just send your students to the website and let them work! Students can play individually or in teams.
The local museum is hosting an exhibit, but the prize item is locked up tight in a box! Without the codes to unlock it, the museum can't put it on display. Help them out by finding the 5 codes that will unlock the box and save the day in this Black history month digital escape game.
Digital escape games are a fun way to start a unit, or to review at the end of a unit. They can also be used to learn about a cultural or historical event. This game will have your students reading carefully and paying attention to the smallest details in order to complete the challenge and unlock the locks.

Your students will enjoy learning without even realizing that they are learning! The challenging game format will get them excited about finding the code to unlock each lock - and the format of the clues for each lock will have them paying close attention - there's no way to solve the puzzles without being 100% focused!
Topics in this game include:
Prep is very easy - you just need to share the website URL with your students. You may want to test the site before you use it, just to make sure nothing is blocked by your district. As some of the clues can be challenging to unlock, you may choose to help your students with the trickier ones. With the teacher guide, you will have the answer key - so you can help guide students towards the correct answer by giving them hints, or if you have limited time, you can adjust the game by reducing the number of locks they need to unlock - just give them the answer(s) to help the activity fit your time constraints.
